Appearance
A lean human man with sun-browned skin, keen gray eyes, and dark brown hair usually tied back with strips of bark and twine. He wears practical leather armor beneath a weathered green cloak, with a wooden druidic focus hanging at his chest and a travel-worn satchel full of herbs, seed pods, and field notes. His hands are strong and scarred from climbing cliffs and handling traps, but his posture is calm and attentive, like someone always listening for the voice of the wild.
Mannerisms
He pauses before answering, as if listening to a sound no one else can hear. When thinking, he rubs a thumb over the grain of his wooden focus, and he often kneels to touch soil or leaves before entering a new place.
Personality
Quiet, observant, and patient, Eldon speaks as though every word should earn its keep. He is gentle with the wounded, reverent toward old places, and surprisingly relentless when protecting something helpless.
Ideals
Balance. Every living thing has a place, and mercy means protecting the weak without letting cruelty spread unchecked.
Bonds
He carries a weathered field journal from the druid who first taught him, and he will risk much to preserve its notes and teachings.
Flaws
He trusts the judgment of animals and weather more readily than the advice of people, and he can become stubbornly silent when he thinks others are ignoring obvious danger.
Quirks
Background
Eldon Reed was born among stone walls and market noise, but he never truly belonged to the village that raised him. While other children learned trades, Eldon spent his days following bird calls, cataloging tracks in mud, and memorizing the bends of the river that ran beyond the fields. He proved unusually gifted with books as well as the living world, and the village elder who kept the chapel's records eventually noticed that the boy read weather patterns and nesting habits with the same fascination others reserved for holy texts. When a famine struck the region, Eldon was one of the few who could lead hunters to game and gather roots from the frozen edge of the forest. That winter taught him that knowledge without compassion was useless, and survival without mercy was a kind of death. He left home after the disaster, choosing the road over safety and the wilderness over the bitterness that had settled into his neighbors' hearts. In the deep woods he found a circle of druids who did not worship nature as a distant force, but treated it as a living kinship of roots, rain, tooth, and leaf. They taught him the old tongue of the wild, the patient listening of stone and stream, and the first steps of the Circle's craft. Eldon still travels light, sleeping under the sky whenever he can, but he now walks with purpose. He shelters lost travelers, heals what can be healed, and hunts only when needed, believing the wild is not a treasure to own, but a balance to protect.
