- Red wrist cordA keepsake from Torga's old caravan, tied around his wrist.
Appearance
Torga is a broad-shouldered half-orc with weather-browned skin, a square jaw, and coarse black hair usually tied behind his head with strips of red cloth. His lower tusks are blunt from years of chewing leather and bone. He smells faintly of woodsmoke, oiled iron, and the sharp medicinal herbs he rubs into his hands after training. His palms are thickly callused, his forearms darkened by sun and wind, and a pale patch of skin across his knuckles shows where years of axe work have worn away the old pigment. He wears a weathered gray hide vest over practical travel clothes, with a red cord wrapped around his left wrist.
Mannerisms
Torga tests the balance of any weapon placed within reach, even during conversation. When listening closely, he tilts his head like he is judging the direction of distant thunder. He speaks in short, practical sentences, but becomes unexpectedly poetic when describing weather, animals, or open country.
Personality
Torga is direct, patient with the frightened, and quietly amused by people who complain about ordinary hardship. He prefers useful work to ceremony and trusts those who share food without being asked. Beneath his blunt manner is a watchful tenderness, especially toward animals, children, and anyone lost far from home.
Ideals
Freedom. No road, clan, lord, or oath should own a person's future. People deserve the chance to choose where they stand.
Bonds
I carry the red cord of my vanished caravan. I will find the people who disappeared with it, or learn the truth of what happened to them.
Flaws
When frightened or uncertain, I become more controlling, giving orders before I have earned the right to give them. I also distrust polished speakers, assuming that every beautiful promise hides a hook.
Quirks
Background
Torga was born at the edge of a wind-scoured frontier where human caravans and half-orc clans traded salt, iron, and winter furs. His mother taught him the routes between distant wells, while his orcish grandfather taught him that an axe was not merely a weapon, but a promise that one would make room for others to survive. Torga grew into a tireless trail guide, carrying messages and supplies through country where roads vanished beneath snow or dust. He learned to read weather from the color of the horizon and to judge a stranger by how they treated a tired animal.
