Appearance
Olli is a compact hill dwarf with a soft, square face, a blunt-cut russet beard, and a habit of keeping his elbows tucked close as if making room for invisible passengers. His clothes are plain, carefully mended, and salt-marked. Before he speaks, he draws a small breath through his nose and waits a beat, giving the impression that he is listening for the deck beneath the floor.
Mannerisms
He leaves a beat of silence before answering, then speaks in a low, even voice. In a crowded room he keeps his shoulders narrow and stands where he can see the door without appearing to watch it.
Personality
Patient and practical, Olli rarely interrupts. He notices who has been left out of a conversation and makes space for them, though he has little patience for people who mistake a quiet manner for agreement.
Ideals
A fair wage is not generosity. People who do difficult work deserve to know what they are owed, and to receive it.
Bonds
He keeps a small wooden tally-board from the vessel where he learned his trade. It bears the names of crew who were paid late or not at all, and he means to find each of them and settle what he can.
Flaws
Olli finds it difficult to leave a debt or unfair bargain alone, even when pursuing it puts him and his companions in needless danger.
Quirks
Background
Olli Korp spent most of his working life below decks, where the ship's groans were easier to understand than the promises of its officers. He was a rope-handler and repair hand, good at noticing a loose cleat, a missing ration, or a sailor pretending not to hear an order. He learned to move quietly not for thievery, but because waking an exhausted crew at the wrong moment could cost everyone a night's rest.
