Appearance
Tavani Mikeladze is a young mixed-race elf man with warm olive-tan skin, a lean athletic build, short voluminous curly dark brown hair dusted with icy frost at the tips, and striking luminescent light blue eyes. He wears a crisp, high-collared white coat with sharp tailored lines, silver buttons, and pale sky-blue trim over fitted leather armor, dark tailored trousers, and sleek snow boots. Spectral frosty-blue wings drift behind him like loose ribbons of winter light. His hands are unusually distinctive, broad-palmed and roughened at the fingertips from years of bowstring work, with tiny pale calluses arranged in precise crescents. He moves with a quiet, gliding gait, favoring neither side, and often becomes unnervingly still when listening for movement beneath snow.
Mannerisms
He touches the lowest silver button of his coat whenever he is making a difficult decision. Before entering an unfamiliar place, he silently counts five possible exits. When speaking about weather, he becomes more animated and uses his hands to sketch invisible currents in the air.
Personality
Tavani is observant, courteous, and quietly intense. He speaks softly enough that people lean toward him, then remembers every detail they revealed. He has a dry, unexpected humor and treats camp preparation as a form of affection. Around strangers he appears formal and distant, but around trusted companions he becomes patient, teasing, and fiercely attentive.
Ideals
Preparation is kindness. The person who studies the trail, counts the rations, and notices the changing wind may be the one who brings everyone home.
Bonds
He carries a folded strip of blue cloth from the expedition that never returned, and he intends to find the lost route and mark it so no one dies there again. He is also quietly devoted to his younger sister, who is the only person allowed to adjust the silver buttons on his coat.
Flaws
He distrusts comfort and assumes that anyone who offers an easy solution has overlooked a danger. Tavani can become controlling during expeditions, correcting small mistakes until companions feel managed rather than protected. He also hides exhaustion behind immaculate clothing and will continue walking long after prudence says to rest.
Quirks
Background
Tavani Mikeladze was born in a highland settlement where elven blood and human blood had mingled for generations, leaving his family comfortable in neither court nor clan. His mother taught him the old winter routes, while his human grandfather taught him to shape a bow from mountain yew and listen to the language of snow. As a child, Tavani discovered that he could sense changes in the air before a storm, and that frost gathered along his hair whenever danger was near. The elders called it a blessing. Tavani regarded it as a responsibility, especially after a whiteout claimed several hunters who had trusted a familiar trail too completely.
