Appearance
A slender half-elf with warm bronze skin, dark auburn hair braided with small wooden prayer beads, and mismatched eyes, one gray and one hazel. Their pointed ears are decorated with simple copper rings. They wear practical saffron and brown monastery robes beneath a weathered traveling cloak, with bandaged hands and a shortsword at the hip. Their expression is calm and observant, but an old sadness lingers beneath their composure.
Mannerisms
Kaelith pauses before answering difficult questions, slowly rolls a wooden prayer bead between their fingers, and habitually notices exits, injuries, and medicinal plants wherever they travel.
Personality
Quietly attentive and patient, Kaelith listens as if every conversation were a lesson in balance. They show kindness through practical action rather than comforting words, and they have a dry, unexpected sense of humor that appears only when tension is high.
Ideals
Compassion. Inner peace has value only when it makes us more willing to relieve the suffering of others.
Bonds
The Monastery of the Still Reed raised me, and I will protect its people and recover the relic stolen from its founders.
Flaws
I mistake emotional distance for spiritual discipline, and I can become judgmental toward anyone who acts impulsively or refuses to examine their motives.
Quirks
Background
Kaelith Vey was born between two worlds and welcomed fully by neither. Their human father served as a traveling physician, while their elven mother belonged to a secluded woodland enclave that distrusted outsiders. When Kaelith was young, their parents left them at the Monastery of the Still Reed, believing its monks could give the child a place where discipline mattered more than ancestry. The monastery became home, and its quiet courtyards taught Kaelith to listen to the wind, the body, and the unspoken fears of others. Kaelith trained as a monk, though their path was shaped as much by healing as combat. They learned to identify medicinal plants, treat wounds, and defend the helpless with swift, measured strikes. Years later, a dying pilgrim entrusted Kaelith with a fragment of a hidden map and a warning that the monastery's founding relic had been stolen generations ago. The abbot urged patience, but Kaelith sensed that the relic's disappearance was connected to a growing violence beyond the monastery walls. Carrying their notes, prayer beads, and a deep unease they cannot meditate away, Kaelith has left the Still Reed to seek the truth and decide whether peace is something to preserve or something that must sometimes be fought for.
