Once per day when you finish a short rest, you can choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your wizard level (rounded up).
- Evocation SavantLevel 2
The gold and time you must spend to copy an evocation spell into your spellbook is halved.
- Sculpt SpellsLevel 2
When you cast an evocation spell that affects other creatures that you can see, you can choose a number of them equal to 1 + the spell’s level. The chosen creatures automatically succeed on their saving throws against the spell, and they take no damage if they would normally take half damage on a successful save.

Appearance
Alex is a stout Mountain Dwarf with skin the color of sun-baked clay. Her thick, dark hair is tied back in functional braids adorned with heavy copper rings. She wears a set of practical scale mail under a weathered, forest-green travel cloak. Her fingers are often stained with ink or charcoal, and her belt is heavy with various pouches and a sturdy spellbook wrapped in oilcloth.
Mannerisms
She constantly adjusts her spectacles even though they are perfectly straight. She tends to hum low, resonant tones while reading her spellbook.
Personality
Alex is as blunt and unyielding as the granite she was born under. She prefers the company of ancient ruins and silent forests to the chatter of cities. She speaks only when necessary, usually to provide a dry observation or a calculated solution. Despite her rough exterior, she has a deep respect for the natural balance of the world.
Ideals
Balance. The world is a complex machine of energy and matter, and we must ensure no one side overpowers the other.
Bonds
I carry a map of the ley lines of my homeland. If it falls into the wrong hands, the very foundations of the mountains could be unraveled.
Flaws
I have very little patience for those who do not understand the basic laws of nature or magic, and I am quick to tell them so.

Background
Born in the deep tunnels of the Ironstone peaks, Alex Cross was always an outlier among her kin. While others found joy in the rhythmic strike of the hammer against the anvil, Alex found herself mesmerized by the unseen currents of energy flowing through the mountain roots. She realized that the stone was not just a resource, but a conduit for primal power. After years of self-taught experimentation and raiding the forgotten libraries of her ancestors, she left the underground cities for the surface wild. She spent decades living in the high crags, mapping the intersections of ley lines and celestial alignments. Her magic is not the refined art of an academy, but a raw and survivalist discipline. She travels the world now as a seeker of arcane geography, believing that the true secrets of the weave are written in the earth itself, not in some dusty tower. She takes the name Cross because of her obsession with the intersections of magical power across the landscape.
