Torielle has discovered a unique and powerful truth during her seclusion, the knowledge that certain marshes are living memories of the land itself. She can identify places where old magic, disease, or spiritual disturbance has altered the natural order, and she can usually find a safe place to hide, rest, or recover in the wilderness.

Appearance
Torielle is a lean, sharp-featured aasimar with warm brown skin, cropped black hair, and pale gold eyes that seem brighter in shadow. A faint silver birthmark runs from her left temple to her jaw like a branching root. Her wings do not show constantly, but when her celestial radiance stirs, translucent pinions of muted amber light unfold behind her. She wears weather-stained leather armor beneath a patched green mantle, with a bone-handled sickle and a bundle of dried marsh herbs at her belt.
Mannerisms
Torielle pauses before answering difficult questions, as if listening for an insect beneath the floorboards. She rubs her thumb over the silver mark at her temple when lying, and she rarely walks around a puddle when she can step through it.
Personality
Torielle is observant, dryly funny, and more compassionate than she wants strangers to know. She dislikes grand speeches and distrusts anyone who describes themselves as chosen by destiny. Around the sick or frightened, her guarded manner softens immediately. Around the powerful, it becomes pointed and impolite.
Ideals
The wild is not kind, but it is truthful. I will defend honest growth, necessary death, and the freedom of living things to become what they are meant to be.
Bonds
She will protect her traveling family, especially her younger cousin Miro, who vanished after the vision at the black pool. She also considers the drowned forest shrine her teacher’s grave and refuses to let anyone drain or exploit its waters.
Flaws
Torielle treats prophecy as a personal accusation. When events resemble one of her visions, she becomes reckless and assumes that hesitation will make the worst outcome inevitable. She also has little patience for comfortable people who call suffering natural simply because they do not have to endure it.
Quirks
Background
Torielle was raised among a traveling family of healers and reed-cutters who moved between river villages, never staying long enough for anyone to decide whether they were blessed or troublesome. Her celestial blood first revealed itself during a winter fever, when the sick children in a crowded wagon dreamed of a woman made of sunlight standing at the door. Torielle survived, but afterward she could hear plants rustle beneath the snow and tell which waters carried sickness before anyone drank from them. She eventually withdrew to a half-sunken shrine in a drowned forest, where an elderly hermit taught her that nature was not gentle, pure, or orderly. It was hungry, patient, and honest. Torielle learned the Druidic tongue from the cries of marsh birds and spent three years studying a black pool that reflected events which had not happened yet. She left seclusion after seeing her family’s wagon overturned beside that pool, surrounded by men wearing the crest of a local magistrate. She now travels to prevent the vision, though she is not certain whether she is trying to save her family, change fate, or prove that the land’s warnings can be trusted.
