Appearance
Lean and agile, with sunlit bronze skin, silver-white hair worn short and practical, faint radiant freckles across his cheekbones, and clear pale eyes that seem to measure every street before he speaks. He favors a weatherproof dark coat over light leather armor, with hidden pockets, a narrow hood, and city maps folded into impossible places. A small celestial sigil is inked on the inside of one wrist, usually hidden unless he is pointing a route or greeting an old friend.
Mannerisms
He talks with his hands as though sketching invisible street plans in the air. When nervous, he counts exits under his breath and taps the heel of one boot twice before answering. He always lowers his voice when naming neighborhoods, as if the city itself might be listening.
Personality
Calm, observant, and dryly humorous, Skyvrelaine is the sort of guide who never hurries, because he has already seen where everyone is going. He is polite to strangers, protective of locals, and quietly mischievous when someone tries to exploit either. He prefers clever solutions, clean escapes, and bargains that leave no one humiliated.
Ideals
Routes are mercy. The city survives because someone remembers which doors open for the lost, which alleys shelter the hungry, and which guard posts change hands at dusk. He believes knowledge should be shared with the people who need it, not hoarded by those who already have power.
Bonds
He protects the hidden paths of the city as if they were living things, because in his mind they are. Every bridge, sewer gate, shrine step, and market shortcut holds a memory, and he feels responsible for the people who trust those memories to him. He also keeps a careful list of names belonging to those who once paid him fairly when others would not, and he returns favors with almost devotional seriousness.
Flaws
He cannot resist treating every district like a puzzle box, even when people are trying to speak to him plainly. He lies too smoothly, which makes the truth sound suspicious even when he finally tells it. When confronted with authority, he becomes needlessly defiant, especially if the order sounds cruel, and he sometimes mistakes secrecy for wisdom.
Quirks
Background
Skyvrelaine was raised in the crowded lanes where the city’s honest work and dishonest work overlapped by only a single locked door. He learned the streets first as a guide, leading travelers through markets, alleyways, shrines, and back routes with a smile and a memory sharp enough to map the whole district from scent alone. His aasimar heritage made him impossible to overlook, but it was his talent for knowing where a caravan would turn, which guard was bored, and which rooftop connected to which warehouse that made him indispensable. When he found that his gift for navigation could also serve thieves, smugglers, and desperate souls alike, he stopped pretending the city was simple.
