Appearance
A lean, weather-browned human with warm brown skin, tightly curled black hair, and pale gray eyes that catch the light like polished glass. A faint line of silver scales traces the left side of the neck and disappears beneath the collar. Their clothing is practical folk dress reinforced with leather, and a copper charm shaped like a small river fish hangs at the throat.
Mannerisms
Seshathi speaks softly until discussing a problem that affects ordinary people, then their voice becomes rapid and emphatic. They pause before casting spells, touch the copper fish charm, and habitually count doors, windows, and exits whenever entering a building.
Personality
Warm, practical, and intensely curious, Seshathi treats strangers as neighbors until they prove otherwise. They have a gift for making frightened people feel capable, but become unexpectedly fierce when someone powerful dismisses the needs of common folk. They enjoy repairing ordinary objects and are fascinated by how different communities solve the same problems.
Ideals
Community. No one survives alone. Power matters only when it is used to lift others out of danger.
Bonds
I will protect my village and keep its people supplied, safe, and connected to the wider world.
Flaws
I cannot resist proving that I am useful, even when accepting help would be wiser. When frightened, I become stubborn and pretend I understand magic that is clearly beyond my control.
Quirks
Background
Seshathi was born in a small farming village beside a broad, slow river, the child of a cooper and a midwife. Their family had lived there for generations, and Seshathi was known less for grand ambitions than for being the person who climbed the tallest roofs, carried the heaviest sacks, and asked too many questions about the strange lights that sometimes flickered over the water. Their magic first emerged during a flood, when fear and desperation called a burst of silver-blue fire into being. The flames burned away a collapsing ferry rope without harming a single passenger, saving half the village from being swept downstream. The villagers called Seshathi a hero after that night, though Seshathi insists the real heroes were the people who worked together to rebuild the river crossing. The event also revealed a troubling truth. In the firelight, a pattern of fine scales appeared across Seshathi's skin, matching an old mark kept in the village shrine, a relic said to belong to a long-vanished dragon-blooded wanderer. Now Seshathi travels to learn where that bloodline came from and how to control its power before it harms someone. They carry the village's hopes awkwardly, accepting requests for help more easily than praise, and still measure every great deed against the simple question of whether everyone made it home alive.
