Appearance
Kallista is an imposing figure, standing nearly six feet tall with a broad, athletic build. Her skin has the metallic sheen of polished silver, and her eyes glow with a constant, soft amber light. She wears sturdy leather armor reinforced for heavy movement, and she typically carries a massive war drum strapped to her back alongside a heavy leather satchel bursting with parchment. She lacks the ethereal grace typical of her kind, moving with a grounded, deliberate weight.
Mannerisms
Kallista stands perfectly still when listening, making her look like a silver statue. When she speaks, she often looks slightly above the head of the person she is talking to, as if reading invisible text.
Personality
Kallista is blunt, literal, and remarkably uncharismatic. She values the physical preservation of knowledge over the art of persuasion. She speaks in short, clipped sentences and finds social niceties to be a waste of valuable time that could be spent practicing a cadence or organizing a library. Despite her prickly exterior, she is deeply protective of those she considers her 'living archives'.
Ideals
Preservation. Knowledge is only as useful as the person standing in front of it to protect it. I will be that shield.
Bonds
I carry a collection of rare manuscripts from the Silverymoon vaults. If they are lost, the history of my order dies with them.
Flaws
I am painfully honest and often offend others without realizing it. I have no patience for metaphor or subtle hints.
Quirks
Background
Born with the mark of a celestial guide, Kallista was expected to be a diplomat or a visionary. However, her celestial nature manifested as physical endurance and a thunderous voice rather than social magnetism. She spent her formative years in the Great Library of Silverymoon, where she was valued more for her ability to reach the highest shelves and move heavy stone pedestals than for her interpersonal skills. While the other bards practiced sonnets, she studied the rhythmic patterns of ancient military marches and the physics of sound. She realized that music is not just beauty, but a structural force. She eventually left the library, realizing that the most important histories are still being written on the battlefield and in the wild. She now acts as a traveling chronicle, using her strength to protect the scholars and stories she holds dear, even if she cannot charm her way out of a paper bag.
