Features
16 featuresAction
- Minor Illusion
When A point within 30 feet
Aizen creates a sound or image of an object within range that lasts for up to 1 minute with concentration unnecessary. The illusion can be dismissed as an action, and physical interaction reveals it as an illusion.
Bonus action
- Bardic Inspiration (d6)Level 1
Aizen can inspire others through stirring words, music, or comic timing. As a bonus action, one creature other than himself within 60 feet that can hear him gains one Bardic Inspiration die, a d6. Within the next 10 minutes, the creature can roll the die and add the result to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. Aizen can use this feature a number of times equal to his Charisma modifier, minimum once, and regains all uses after a long rest.
Always on
- Vicious Mockery
When One creature within 60 feet that can hear Aizen
Aizen unleashes a stream of magically sharpened insults at one creature within 60 feet that can hear him. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or take 1d4 psychic damage and have disadvantage on its next attack roll before the end of its next turn.
- Dissonant Whispers
When One creature within 60 feet that can hear Aizen
Aizen whispers a discordant secret that forces one creature within 60 feet to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, it takes 3d6 psychic damage and must immediately use its reaction to move as far as its speed allows away from him. On a successful save, it takes half damage and does not flee.
- Healing Word
When One creature within 60 feet that Aizen can see
Aizen calls out a soothing refrain. One creature within 60 feet regains 1d4 plus 3 hit points.
- Faerie Fire
When A 20-foot cube within 60 feet
Aizen scatters glittering motes through the air. Each creature in a 20-foot cube must make a Dexterity saving throw or become outlined in light, granting advantage on attack rolls against it and preventing it from benefiting from invisibility.
- Tasha's Hideous Laughter
When One creature within 30 feet that can hear Aizen
Aizen performs an absurdly convincing comic routine aimed at one creature within 30 feet that can hear him. The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw or become incapacitated and have a speed of 0 while laughing helplessly. It repeats the save at the end of each of its turns and whenever it takes damage.
- SpellcastingLevel 1
Aizen is a 1st-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Charisma, although his practical spellwork is often disguised as jokes, gestures, and theatrical flourishes. He knows two bard cantrips and four 1st-level bard spells, and he has two 1st-level spell slots.
- TraitGnomeDarkvision, Aizen can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light, seeing only in shades of gray.
- TraitGnomeGnome Cunning, Aizen has advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against magic.
- TraitGnomeNatural Illusionist, Aizen knows the Minor Illusion cantrip. Intelligence is his spellcasting ability for it.
- TraitGnomeSpeak with Small Beasts, Aizen can communicate simple ideas to Small or smaller beasts through sounds and gestures. Beasts can understand the meaning of his words, though he has no special ability to understand their replies.

Appearance
A small forest gnome with warm copper-brown skin, a broad moss-green cap, and thick dark curls gathered into two uneven braids. He wears a patched burgundy coat over a cream shirt, bright yellow stockings, and soft leather boots decorated with tiny brass bells. He rarely stands still. His feet shift in little rhythmic patterns, and his gaze constantly travels around a room, checking faces, exits, loose objects, and possible audiences. When excited, he leans forward so far that people instinctively take a step back.
Mannerisms
Aizen punctuates important sentences with tiny bows, taps rhythms against his thigh when thinking, and tests the acoustics of unfamiliar rooms by humming the same three-note phrase. He addresses animals as if they are fellow performers and gives them imaginary stage names.
Personality
Aizen is exuberant, observant, and almost impossible to discourage. He enjoys strangers, bad ideas, dramatic entrances, and any situation that can be improved with a rhythm. Beneath the jokes, he is an attentive listener who notices when someone has been left out of a conversation and quietly brings them back into it.
Ideals
Applause is proof that people can be brought together. I will become famous not by standing above others, but by making every room feel larger and more joyful.
Bonds
The Sunspoke Jubilee is his family, and he intends to earn enough gold to buy them a permanent theater with a roof that does not leak during rainstorms.
Flaws
He treats every disagreement as an audience participation exercise and often keeps performing long after silence would be wiser. He also exaggerates his accomplishments so cheerfully that he sometimes forgets which version of a story was true.
Quirks
Background
Aizen Oquendo grew up among the traveling performers of the Sunspoke Jubilee, a loose caravan of gnomes, halflings, puppeteers, dancers, and instrument makers who crossed market roads and mountain passes. His first instrument was a clay ocarina with three reliable notes and one mysterious fourth note that appeared only when the moon was full. Aizen learned early that an audience did not need perfection. It needed surprise, confidence, and someone willing to leap onto the table before anyone else could object. For years, he entertained merchants and shepherds, but applause began to feel too easy when it came from people who already knew his name. After overhearing a retired adventurer boast that true glory belonged to those whose songs were sung by strangers, Aizen made a decision. He packed his best coat, borrowed a rapier he had never actually fenced with, and left the Jubilee with a cheerful promise to return rich enough to buy the entire caravan a permanent theater. He wants gold, certainly, but more than that he wants a story so magnificent that even people who dislike music will have to admit he was there.
