Appearance
Threnn is a lithe, powerful Tabaxi with the distinctive pale white and gray rosetted fur of a snow leopard. His eyes are a piercing, icy crystalline blue that seem to glow faintly in the twilight. He wears form-fitting studded leather dyed in arctic camouflage and a thick, tattered cloak of yeti fur. A massive heavy crossbow is slung across his back, while a worn battleaxe and a smaller handaxe hang from a belt lined with climbing pitons.
Mannerisms
He often tilts his head to one side while listening to sounds others cannot hear, and he rarely makes direct eye contact, instead scanning the periphery for movement.
Personality
Threnn is as silent as the falling snow, speaking only when necessary and usually in hushed tones. He is deeply protective of the small, vulnerable settlements of the north, viewing himself as the apex predator that hunts the things that would harm them. He finds social gatherings exhausting, preferring the company of the cold winds and the crunch of frost beneath his paws.
Ideals
Vigilance. The innocent sleep safely only because I do not. I am the shield that moves in the dark.
Bonds
I carry the silvered whiskers of my clan's elder in a small pouch. Their memory is the only thing warmer than my blood.
Flaws
I trust no one who hasn't survived a winter on the ice. I find the comforts of fire and beds make a warrior soft and slow.
Quirks
Background
Born in the highest reaches of the Star-Mount Crags, Threnn's clan was decimated by a sudden, unnatural blizzard that brought with it horrors from the Frostfell. Left as the sole survivor, he spent years wandering the glaciers, learning to move unseen and strike from the shadows. He realized that the monsters of the night feared the same thing he did: the biting cold. By mastering the terrain and the silence of the hunt, he became a mythic figure known only as the Ghost of the Glaciers. He now patrols the borders of the civilized world, keeping a watchful eye on the tundra. The villagers often leave offerings of dried meat or carved stone on their doorsteps, knowing the Ghost has passed through when they wake to find their borders clear of tracks and the night's threats silenced. He seeks the source of the eternal winter that claimed his family, suspecting a rift between planes remains open.
