Appearance
Elara has deep cerulean skin that glistens like polished sea glass. Her hair is a mass of wet, dark tresses that seem to flow as if submerged in water, even on dry land. She wears heavy, barnacle-encrusted chain mail over simple pirate leathers. Her eyes are the color of a stormy sea, swirling with white flecks like sea foam. She carries a morningstar that hums with a faint electrical charge.
Mannerisms
She constantly hums a low, rumbling tune that sounds like distant thunder.
Personality
Elara is as volatile as the ocean she calls home. She alternates between hearty, boisterous laughter and cold, focused intensity. She views every storm as a personal conversation with the divine and often shouts back at the clouds during a gale. She is fiercely loyal to the Barnacle Bunch, considering them the only crew crazy enough to navigate her internal tides.
Ideals
Freedom. The tides do not ask for permission to rise, and neither should we.
Bonds
The crew of the Salted Wretch, my fellow Barnacle Bunch, are the only family I have left.
Flaws
I am prone to fits of destructive rage when things go too quiet, the silence feels like a threat.
Quirks
Background
Found floating in the heart of a hurricane as an infant, Elara was raised by the tides before being fished out by a band of privateers. She spent her youth learning that the sea only respects those who can roar louder than its waves. She eventually found her place with the Barnacle Bunch, a notorious group of pirates where her heritage as a water genasi and her gifts as a tempest cleric made her an invaluable asset. She serves as the group's spiritual navigator, reading the currents and calling down lightning upon any merchant vessel that refuses to pay the bunch's 'toll'. To her, the gold is just metal, the real prize is the thrill of the hunt under a blackened sky.
