Appearance
Shiria is a six-foot-tall human woman with a broad, powerful frame shaped by years of military training and close-quarters combat. Her warm olive skin bears numerous old scars, the most prominent a jagged silver line running down her left cheek. Her dark storm-gray eyes are sharp and constantly watchful. Her hair is cut in a severe undercut, with the longer dark portion pulled into a tight ponytail. In modern civilian settings, she wears a fitted charcoal turtleneck, reinforced dark jeans, a silver watch, and heavy black tactical boots. On duty, she wears a matte black tactical vest over a flexible armored bodysuit, reinforced cargo pants, tactical gloves, a headset, and silent-soled combat boots. Her modern firearms and equipment are treated as martial weapons under the campaign's firearms rules.
Mannerisms
Shiria scans every room before sitting down, positions herself with a clear view of entrances, and checks the condition of nearby weapons without consciously realizing she is doing it. She speaks in short, precise sentences and rarely raises her voice. When angered, she becomes quieter rather than louder. Before a dangerous operation, she tightens her gloves, checks her watch, and says, "Know the exits."
Personality
Disciplined, pragmatic, and intensely loyal once trust has been earned. Shiria values direct action over speeches, preparation over talent, and improvement over excuses. She has a quiet authority that draws attention without theatrics. She respects competence, courage, and people who meet danger head-on. She does not seek violence for its own sake, but when violence becomes necessary, she is ruthlessly efficient.
Ideals
Duty. A promise is a weapon only if it is kept. Shiria believes strength exists to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and that preparation is a moral obligation rather than a personal preference.
Bonds
The surviving members of Shiria's former unit are her family. She will risk almost anything to protect them, and she keeps the names of the dead written inside the cover of her field journal. She is also bound to the compound she now protects, regarding it as a place that must never suffer the kind of betrayal that destroyed her unit.
Flaws
Shiria trusts competence more readily than kindness, and she can be dismissive or openly cold toward anyone she considers careless. She has difficulty asking for help, even when wounded or exhausted. Betrayal awakens a ruthless side of her that can override mercy, and once she decides someone is a threat, convincing her otherwise is extremely difficult.
Quirks
Background
Shiria grew up in a hard-working human family on the edge of a city where security was never taken for granted. She learned early that preparation mattered more than bravado. While others chased recognition, Shiria studied procedures, memorized exits, and practiced until exhaustion made every movement automatic. Her physical strength and unshakable endurance carried her through military training, where she became known as the soldier who could still stand after everyone else had fallen. She earned her cheek scar during a failed extraction in which her unit was betrayed by its own informant. Shiria survived, but several comrades did not, and the incident permanently changed the way she judged loyalty.
“She learned early that preparation mattered more than bravado.”
