Appearance
Dresden is a tall man with skin the color of polished slate and hair as black as a raven's wing. His eyes are a flat, piercing grey with no visible iris. He wears silvered plate armor adorned with feathers and carries a shield etched with the likeness of a bird in flight. There is a persistent chill in the air around him, and his movements are unnervingly still.
Mannerisms
He frequently checks his own pulse with a look of mild disappointment when he feels nothing.
Personality
Dresden is somber and direct, possessing a graveyard wit that often unsettles the living. He speaks as if every word is a debt he is paying back to the world. Despite his cold exterior, he is deeply driven by a sense of duty toward those who suffer. He views himself as a tool of the Raven Queen, a janitor of the soul's cycle who has no room for personal ego or warmth.
Ideals
Balance. Death is a natural part of life, and those who disrupt the cycle must be returned to it.
Bonds
My life belongs to the Raven Queen, and my shield belongs to those who cannot defend their own souls.
Flaws
I am convinced that I am a monster and refuse to let anyone get close enough to prove me wrong.
Quirks
Background
In his first life, Dresden was a mercenary captain who viewed death only as a business metric. He led men into meat grinders for gold and felt nothing when their threads were cut short. His career ended in a muddy trench, his throat slit by a scavenger's blade. In the grey haze between life and the beyond, the Raven Queen offered him a choice: become a permanent resident of her realm, or return to the world as her hand, hunting the undead and guiding the lost back to the natural cycle. He chose the latter, rising from his own grave three days after he was buried. Now, he travels the world as a revenant soldier. He hunts those who would defy death, such as necromancers and liches, viewing every vanquished undead as a small payment toward the massive debt of his own blood-soaked past. He believes he is beyond redemption, yet he performs acts of mercy with a quiet, desperate hope that the scales might one day balance.
