His heavy chain mail is practical and meticulously maintained, though he wears a faded, mud-stained green surcoat over it.

Lu is disciplined and stoic, carrying himself with a rigidity born from decades of military service. However, his surface-level austerity hides a deep compassion for the common folk. He has a dry, dark sense of humor and speaks only when he has something meaningful to say.

Lu served for over a century in the elite Border Guard of the Wood Elf realms, protecting the forest from the creeping corruption of the lowlands. His life was defined by the chain of command until he was ordered to ignore a plea for help from a neighboring human village under siege. Seeing the smoke on the horizon, Lu could not abide the cold calculus of his generals. He broke formation and led a handful of soldiers to intervene. They successfully repelled the invaders, but Lu's defiance resulted in a court-martial. Rather than accept a sentence of silent meditation for another century, he chose exile. He traveled to the human lands he once watched from afar, finding that his skills were highly valued by those with gold but less conscience. He now works as a freelancer, though he strictly accepts only contracts that align with his own sense of justice. He misses the tall trees of his home, but he finds more purpose in the chaotic freedom of the outside world.
