When Attack action
Attack twice with the Attack action, often striking once to draw an enemy's attention and once to drive it away from an ally.
- Ancestral Mark
When First melee hit while raging
Mark the first enemy hit during a rage with ancestral guardians, making it less effective against Yrsa's allies.
- Ancestor's Intercession
When Reaction while raging
Call on an ancestral spirit to reduce damage dealt to a nearby ally.
- Unarmored DefenseLevel 1
While not wearing armor, Yrsa's Armor Class equals 10 + her Dexterity modifier + her Constitution modifier. She can use a shield and still gain this benefit.
- Reckless AttackLevel 2
Yrsa has advantage on her first melee weapon attack during her turn if she chooses to gain advantage on it. Until her next turn, attacks against her have advantage.
- Danger SenseLevel 2
Yrsa has advantage on Dexterity saving throws against effects she can see, such as traps and spells. She cannot use this benefit while blinded, deafened, or incapacitated.
- Primal PathLevel 3
Yrsa follows the Path of the Ancestral Guardian. Her ancestral spirits manifest as protective, half-remembered figures around her.
- Ancestral ProtectorsLevel 3
While raging, the first creature Yrsa hits with a melee attack on her turn becomes the target of her ancestral protectors until the start of her next turn. The target has disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures other than Yrsa, and those creatures have resistance to the target's damage.
- Extra AttackLevel 5
Yrsa can attack twice, instead of once, whenever she takes the Attack action on her turn.
- Fast MovementLevel 5
Yrsa's speed increases by 10 feet while she is not wearing heavy armor.

Appearance
Yrsa is a broad-shouldered goliath woman with slate-gray skin, pale blue markings across her arms and collarbones, and thick black hair worn in two low braids bound with red thread. She stands with her weight slightly forward on the balls of her feet, as if listening through the ground, and remains unusually still when waiting. Her hands are large and careful, with blunt nails stained by herbs and charcoal. A small pouch of dried mountain flowers hangs beside her axe.
Mannerisms
When someone speaks, Yrsa tilts her head and watches their feet rather than their face. Before making an important decision, she presses two fingers to the ground. During tense conversations, she quietly counts her breaths in Giant.
Personality
Yrsa is patient, observant, and unexpectedly tender toward frightened people, injured animals, and anyone who thinks they are useless. She speaks slowly because she wants each word to carry weight, but once she decides someone is in danger, her calm becomes immovable. She dislikes boasting, loud feasts, and challenges that exist only to impress spectators.
Ideals
Endurance is not the same as hardness. The strongest person is the one who remains gentle when fear gives them permission to become cruel.
Bonds
The mountain shrine where Yrsa made her discovery must be protected, even if doing so means defying her entire clan. She also carries the final prayer of a missing apprentice and refuses to let its words be forgotten.
Flaws
Yrsa treats every unexplained coincidence as a warning from the ancestors, and she can become dangerously stubborn when others dismiss what she has heard. She is also uncomfortable receiving praise, because part of her fears that any glory claimed for herself dishonors the dead who protect her.
Quirks
Background
Yrsa Järnnäve was raised among the high crags where goliath clans measure worth by endurance, but she never cared for contests of strength. She preferred the quiet work of carrying the injured, sorting medicinal roots, and listening to elders describe the voices they heard in the stone. When a winter avalanche buried a hunting party, Yrsa survived by sheltering in a cavern marked with ancient handprints. There she found that the voices were not ghosts exactly, but memories held by the mountain, fragments of people who had died defending the passes. Afterward, Yrsa withdrew to a lonely shrine and became a hermit, studying herbs and the strange ancestral echoes beneath the earth. Her solitude ended when those echoes began repeating the names of living travelers who had not yet died. Yrsa took up her great axe, not as a symbol of rage, but as a tool for cutting through whatever was poisoning the old spirits. She now travels beyond her homeland, seeking the source of the disturbance while protecting companions with the unseen strength of those who came before her.
