Appearance
Yassile is a slender Tiefling with dusty lavender skin and a pair of horns that curve back like those of a ram. His eyes are a striking, pupilless amber that seem to look slightly past whoever he is speaking to. He wears layered robes of midnight blue, stained with ink and travel grime, and he always carries a heavy spellbook tethered to his belt by a thick silver chain.
Mannerisms
He has a habit of touching his temples when he speaks and frequently apologizes for things that haven't happened yet.
Personality
He is a man burdened by quiet knowledge. Yassile often appears distracted or melancholic because he is perpetually processing half-formed images of the future. He is deeply empathetic, perhaps too much so, and treats every interaction with a gentle, resigned patience as if he is reciting a script he has already read.
Ideals
Compassion. Even if the end is fixed, the comfort we provide one another in the meantime is the only thing that matters.
Bonds
I carry a sealed letter that I saw myself opening in a vision ten years from now. I will not break the seal until the day matches the vision.
Flaws
I am prone to fatalism. If I see a bad outcome, I often stop trying to fight it, assuming the struggle is pointless.
Quirks
Background
Yassile was born to a family of archivists who valued the stability of history above all else. His childhood was unremarkable until he began experiencing the blinks. These were not mere hallucinations but jagged fragments of things to come, ranging from a bowl falling off a table to a neighbor's sudden illness. He quickly learned that shouting a warning often made the accident happen faster or caused it to happen in a more tragic way. This sense of powerlessness drove him to the arcane arts, where he hoped to find a way to edit the visions he received. Instead, he found that his magic only amplified the frequency of the prophecies. He left his home after witnessing the inevitable destruction of his father's collection in a flood, unable to move the thousands of books in time. Now, he travels with the hope that somewhere in the multiverse, there is a way to use his sight for true change, though his heart fears that every step he takes is merely fulfilling a path already walked by his future self.
