Appearance
Felix is a dapper Halfling with impeccably groomed sideburns and dark, calculating eyes. He wears a tailored charcoal doublet over reinforced leather, with several hidden pockets for dice and daggers. His smile is charming but never quite reaches his eyes.
Mannerisms
Felix speaks with a slow, deliberate cadence, often pausing to let his words sink in and gauge the listener's reaction.
Personality
Felix is the ultimate social chameleon. He mimics the manners of nobles and the grit of street thugs with equal ease. He is obsessively observant, cataloging the ticks and tells of everyone he meets to better exploit them later.
Ideals
Success. I will regain the wealth I lost and more, no matter whose pockets I have to pick or whose heart I have to break.
Bonds
The Vanderwick mob took everything from me. I will one day see their empire crumble, not through violence, but through systemic ruin.
Flaws
I am addicted to the rush of a con. I often risk my safety just to see if I can convince someone of a truly ridiculous lie.
Quirks
Background
Felix Syborn spent a decade as the premier fixer and gambler for the Vanderwick mob, a family that controls the underbelly of several major ports. He specialized in high stakes card games where he would intentionally lose small sums to build trust before bankrupting marks for the Syndicate. However, Felix's own greed proved his undoing when he began skimming gold from the mob's cut. He successfully framed a rival for the theft, but the truth came out when a jilted lover sold him out. Felix barely escaped the city with his life, leaving behind a mountain of debt and a furious crime boss. Now, he uses his bardic talents as a literal mask, traveling as a wandering storyteller to stay one step ahead of the assassins sent by the Vanderwicks. He knows that in the game of life, the house always wins, but he intends to be the house for as long as he can stay alive.
