Appearance
Raine Bradbury is a female drow elf with dark purple grey skin, bright blue eyes, and long white hair gathered in messy spiraled curls. She wears dark leather armor tooled with burnt nature motifs, the worn patterns resembling leaves, roots, and curling vines after a forest fire. A longbow rests across her back beside a full quiver, and she moves with the quiet alertness of a hunter who belongs as much to moonlit thickets as to the open wild. Her expression is sharp and watchful, but her gaze carries a strange, reverent wonder whenever the Feywild blooms around her.
Mannerisms
She tilts her head as if listening for distant footsteps in every conversation. When thinking, she drums two fingers against the grip of her bow or brushes a curl back behind one pointed ear. In unfamiliar places, she stops to smell the air before she speaks, as though the world itself might answer first.
Personality
Raine is daring, self-directed, and hard to pin down. She speaks with dry humor and a hint of challenge, but she is also unexpectedly gentle with frightened creatures, wounded travelers, and any place that has been scarred by careless hands. She prefers action over ceremony and hates being pitied.
Ideals
Freedom. No law, oath, or tradition is worth more than the right to choose your own path. Life should be lived by instinct, courage, and the will to move forward.
Bonds
She is fiercely loyal to the hidden glades and moonlit paths that gave her refuge, and she will risk almost anything to keep them unspoiled. She also carries a private vow to one day return to the drow who still live in fear and prove that survival does not have to mean surrender.
Flaws
Raine trusts her instincts too quickly and her patience too slowly. She can turn defiant at the slightest hint of being controlled, even when cooperation would clearly serve her better. When something feels like a cage, she is liable to kick the door in first and ask questions later.
Quirks
Background
Raine Bradbury was born beneath a starless canopy, where the old drow customs spoke of survival as obedience and obedience as safety. She never accepted that bargain. When a strange crossing to the Feywild opened near her people’s borderlands, Raine was the one who slipped through it first, chasing the scent of living rain and wildflowers instead of the familiar weight of fear. There she found a world that did not ask her to bow, only to listen, and the song of the woods became the first honest voice she had ever trusted. She learned to hunt in bright groves where glowing moths drifted like embers, and to read the land the way others read maps. Burn scars on bark, bent grass, bird silence, all of it became warning and welcome. Raine carries herself like a wanderer because she refuses to be owned by any throne, temple, or tribe. She guides herself by instinct, follows the trail that feels truest, and protects the strange, untamed places that still remember how to breathe. If the world calls her reckless, she would rather be reckless than civilized at the cost of her freedom.
