Appearance
Eisenfaus stands broad and thick, even for a dwarf, with muscles that threaten to burst through his finely tailored silk vestments. His beard is a masterpiece of grooming, intricate braids woven with small gold rings and smelling faintly of lavender. He carries a massive, well-maintained greataxe that looks almost out of place against his merchant's finery, yet he wields it with a terrifyingly natural grace.
Mannerisms
He has a habit of winking when he is lying and habitually over-enunciates his words to sound more aristocratic than he is.
Personality
He is a boisterous and overly friendly fellow who laughs far too loud and tells stories that are clearly tall tales. He uses his physical presence and dwarven charm to distract people while he assesses the weight of their coin purses. When things get serious, the mask of the merchant drops to reveal a subterranean fury born of deep mountain stone.
Ideals
Freedom. The world is wide and the air is fresh. No cage, literal or metaphorical, will ever hold me again.
Bonds
I keep a fake gold sovereign from my first successful con. It reminds me that the world is built on perception and strength.
Flaws
I am a sucker for a high-stakes gamble or a get-rich-quick scheme, often forgetting that I am usually the one supposed to be running the scam.
Quirks
Background
Eisenfaus was once a low-level swindler in the Oakhaven Mines, selling fraudulent deeds to non-existent mineral veins. He managed to fleece half his clan before the scheme collapsed. To escape a life sentence in the deep pits, he attempted to outrun a tunnel collapse he triggered himself. The pressure of the shifting earth and the suffocating dark triggered a survival instinct so primal it transformed into a permanent, internal rage. He didn't just survive, he smashed his way through solid granite with a pickaxe and sheer willpower. Now, he travels the surface lands under the guise of 'Baron Vorhof,' a disgraced noble from a far-off hold. He uses his sharp tongue to weave lies in high society, but when the authorities catch up or his schemes go south, he relies on the bear-spirit he encountered during his crawl out of the dark. He is a man of dual natures, the clever fox and the unstoppable bear, always one lie away from a bloodbath.
