Appearance
Akmenos is a lean Tiefling with deep crimson skin and short, backward-curving horns. He keeps his tail wrapped tight around his waist to avoid knocking things over. His dark hair is messy and soot-stained, and his yellow eyes always seem to be looking for the nearest exit. He wears dark leather armor and hooded rags that help him disappear into the smog and shadows of the city.
Mannerisms
He avoids direct eye contact, instead focusing on a person's hands or their belt pouch. He often leans against walls rather than standing in the center of a room.
Personality
He is cynical but practical, speaking in short, clipped sentences. He values tangible results over vague promises and finds it hard to trust anyone who has never gone a day without a meal. Despite his hard exterior, he has a soft spot for other outcasts and street orphans.
Ideals
Independence. I am a free person and I will never let another person own my time or my life again.
Bonds
I will do anything for Pip, the mouse who shared my scraps when I had nothing else. Also, I seek the owner of the other half of my parent's ring.
Flaws
I am convinced that everyone is eventually going to betray me, so I often leave before the friendship gets too deep.
Quirks
Background
Akmenos spent his childhood in the damp corners of the Copper District. Left on the doorstep of a burning tenement, his only inheritance was a broken signet ring. He survived by learning which roof tiles were loose and which guards took the longest naps. His hellish heritage made him an easy target for blame, so he learned to be invisible. If no one can see you, they cannot point a finger at you. After years of running errands for minor gangs, he decided that his skills were worth more than a crust of bread. He took up the rapier to defend the small territory he carved out for himself. Now he seeks to leave the city walls, hoping to find the other half of his ring and the gold required to never sleep in a gutter again.
