Appearance
A towering female goliath with slate-gray skin, white scar lines across one cheek, and a mane of braided black hair threaded with river reeds and little bone charms. She wears practical leather armor under travel-worn layers, with a shield marked by chalky druid runes and a satchel full of herbs, lockpicks, and pilfered odds and ends. Her eyes are storm-dark and alert, always scanning exits, treetops, and pockets alike.
Mannerisms
She speaks softly to animals as if they are fellow conspirators, keeps her hands busy braiding grass or worrying a coin, and pauses to sniff the air before entering any room. When she is amused, one corner of her mouth lifts first, as though she is sharing a joke with the trees.
Personality
Sharp-witted, suspicious of easy promises, and fiercely practical, Brindle treats every problem like a lock that can be coaxed, picked, or broken. She is protective of the weak, but she hates being told what to do almost as much as she hates waste. In a fight she is calm and direct, and out of one she is usually already planning her escape route.
Ideals
Freedom. Laws should protect the helpless, not cage them, and anyone strong enough to control a forest or a city should expect resistance from her.
Bonds
She still carries a stolen charm from the first druid who taught her to read tracks in frost and birdflight, and she will not let anyone who helped her starve, freeze, or be caged come to harm.
Flaws
She cannot resist testing a lock, a pocket, or a sealed door, even when patience would serve her better. When cornered, she jokes first and thinks later, and if someone reminds her of authority she tends to become stubborn just to prove she is not afraid. She also has a habit of assuming every kindness is a bargain in disguise.
Quirks
Background
Born in the high mountain roads where goliath caravans crossed smuggler paths, she learned early that every bargain has a shadow. Her clan valued strength and endurance, but she was always better at noticing what people hid than at lifting what they guarded. By the time she was old enough to carry a pack, she was already running messages for thieves, fences, and desperate pilgrims, slipping through markets with a quiet grin and a quicker hand. She became a criminal not out of cruelty, but because the underworld paid in information, and information was the one thing she trusted. Her turn toward druidcraft came after a winter road raid went wrong. Left to freeze in a ravine with a stolen pouch of seed, she survived by following the instincts of crows, moss, and wind-sheltered stone. An old druid found her there, half-starved and still lying about what she had stolen, and instead of turning her in, taught her to listen. She now walks a crooked path between moonlit groves and city alleys, stealing from the cruel, bargaining with beasts, and leaving secret signs in bark and brick for those who know where to look. Nature did not make her honest, but it taught her what theft can become when it is aimed at survival, freedom, and revenge against those who think the world belongs to them.
