Appearance
Nima Sadeq is a lean, copper-skinned air genasi with dark hair that lifts slightly even in still rooms, as though a private breeze follows them. Their eyes are gray-green, their features plain and work-worn, and faint pale lines like windblown dust mark their forearms. They smell distinctly of lamp oil, dried mint, and old incense, a scent they never notice. They wear patched leather armor beneath a weathered blue-gray prayer shawl, with a small brass temple bell tied at the wrist. They repeatedly check that the bell is still there, usually while speaking to someone else.
Mannerisms
Nima speaks in a calm, practical voice and pauses before answering difficult questions, as if listening for a change in the air. They touch or adjust the brass bell at their wrist whenever they lie, make a promise, or hear the name of their patron. Their hair stirs even indoors, and they occasionally turn toward empty doorways as though someone has just whispered from outside.
Personality
Nima is patient, observant, and quietly compassionate. They prefer useful work to ceremony, ask careful questions, and remember small details about people's needs. Their humor is dry and unexpectedly blunt, especially when someone treats religious authority as proof of moral authority. They are brave when protecting others, but deeply uncomfortable being treated as a chosen one.
Ideals
Mercy. Faith is not proven by obedience to the powerful. It is proven by what we do for the abandoned, the frightened, and the people no one important remembers.
Bonds
The wind shrine that raised me must never be abandoned, no matter what I have to owe or become to protect it.
Flaws
I assume that anything powerful enough to help me must eventually demand a price, so I distrust kindness that comes without conditions. When frightened, I become secretive and try to solve problems alone, even when asking for help would be wiser.

Background
Nima Sadeq was raised in the service quarters of a shrine built around a wind-carved spring. The temple welcomed travelers, copied prayers, washed the sick, and kept a small bell ringing through the night so the lost could find their way home. Nima proved better at mending lamps, memorizing old liturgies, and listening to frightened people than at formal devotion. Their air-genasi nature made the priests treat them as an omen, sometimes kindly and sometimes with uncomfortable reverence. Nima learned early that people often confess more readily to someone they think is touched by the heavens. The pact began during a winter of failed rains. While searching the sealed archives for a forgotten water rite, Nima found a prayer written in a language no priest recognized. When they spoke it aloud, the lamps went out, the temple bell rang without being touched, and a presence answered from the moving air between the stones. The being offered knowledge in exchange for service, claiming that the temple's oldest prayers had once belonged to it. Nima accepted, not for power, but to keep the shrine alive and protect the people who depended on it. Now they travel as a reluctant occult agent, carrying the temple bell and trying to determine whether their patron is a neglected guardian, a hungry spirit, or something that has merely learned to sound holy.
