- Favored EnemyLevel 1
Choose a favored enemy and gain benefits against it, including easier tracking and learning its habits. Serelwen chose humanoids, especially poachers and raiders, because they are the enemies she has seen harm the wild most often.
- Natural ExplorerLevel 1
You are skilled at traveling and surviving in one natural environment. You gain benefits while traveling for an hour or more, while foraging, and while navigating in your favored terrain. Serelwen favors forest terrain.
- Fighting Style: ArcheryLevel 2
You gain a fighting style that reflects your training. Serelwen fights with Archery, gaining a bonus to ranged weapon attacks.
- SpellcastingLevel 2
You can cast ranger spells using Wisdom as your spellcasting ability. At level 6, Serelwen knows 4 ranger spells and has four 1st-level spell slots.
- Primeval AwarenessLevel 3
You become aware of the presence of your favored enemies within 1 mile, as long as they are not behind total cover. The ability is limited to an area and takes effort to use, but it helps Serelwen sense trouble before it fully arrives.
- Ranger Archetype: HunterLevel 3
At level 3, Serelwen chose the Hunter archetype, which teaches her specialized techniques for bringing down dangerous foes.
- Hunter's Prey: Colossus SlayerLevel 3
Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can deal an extra 1d8 damage to a creature you have already damaged this turn. Serelwen favors this technique against tough prey.
- Ability Score ImprovementLevel 4
When you reach 4th level, you can increase one ability score by 2, or two ability scores by 1. Serelwen used this to sharpen her field training and endurance through practical experience.

Appearance
A lean wood elf with copper-brown skin, sharp green eyes, and long dark hair braided with river reeds and small antler beads. She wears fitted scale mail over weatherproof green-gray leathers, carries a longbow strung with pale sinew, and keeps a short blade at each hip. Her face is calm and watchful, with the quiet, patient look of someone who can stand motionless in the trees for hours.
Mannerisms
She pauses before answering, as if listening for distant footsteps, and she often points with two fingers instead of one, like a hunter marking a trail. When thinking, she rubs the thumb of her bow hand along the edge of her left cuff.
Personality
Quietly protective, observant, and dryly humorous, Serelwen prefers the company of sensible people, dependable animals, and honest weather. She is patient with the frightened, strict with the cruel, and strangely tender when tending broken things, whether they are traps, bones, or reputations.
Ideals
Balance. The wild and the civilized can coexist, but only if both are held to account. No creature, noble or monster, has the right to consume a place without leaving something alive behind.
Bonds
She carries a carved cedar token from the first grove she protected alone, and she will not rest until the poachers who burned that place are accounted for. She also feels responsible for every young traveler she guides back to safety, as if each one were a sapling she has promised to shelter.
Flaws
She struggles to trust cities, officials, and anyone who speaks too smoothly about land ownership. When she believes a trail is leading to danger, she can become stubborn enough to ignore safer advice, even from friends.
Quirks
Background
Serelwen was raised on the edge of a deep forest where elven paths and human roads met, a place where every trail had a memory and every stream a name. As a child she learned to read tracks before she learned to read books, and she found comfort in the honest language of claw marks, snapped twigs, and wind directions. When a season of blight and poaching stripped her homeland of game, she became one of the wardens who followed the damage outward, beyond the woods, to learn who had taken so much and why. Her work as a ranger turned her into a traveler by necessity and by habit. She has crossed moor, mountain, and marsh, trading venison, remedies, and warning signs for shelter and rumor. She now walks with a quiet purpose, hunting the people and creatures that prey on the weak, while carrying the old elven belief that every living thing belongs to a web larger than itself. Though she speaks softly, she is relentless once she has chosen a path, and those who mistake her gentleness for hesitation usually learn better at arrow range.
“Her work as a ranger turned her into a traveler by necessity and by habit.”
