A slender moon elf with silver-white hair, pale violet eyes, and a weathered traveling cloak stitched with mismatched patches. Their fingers are stained with ink and stage makeup, and a thin scar crosses the left eyebrow. A battered spellbook hangs from a chain at the waist beside a disguise kit and a collection of carefully marked playing cards.

Charming, theatrical, and relentlessly observant. Vaelis treats every conversation as a performance, but beneath the practiced confidence is a sincere hunger to be respected for something real. They are quick to flatter strangers, quicker to notice weaknesses, and surprisingly loyal to fellow outsiders.

Vaelis Quillstep was born among moon elves who prized patience, memory, and the careful preservation of old magical traditions. Unfortunately, Vaelis possessed little natural talent for the arcane. Their Intelligence was unremarkable, their concentration was unreliable, and every formal lesson ended with a louder explosion than the one before it. Rather than accept a quiet life copying scrolls, Vaelis discovered a different talent, the ability to make people believe that talent existed. With painted symbols, borrowed robes, and a few harmless cantrips, Vaelis began performing as Master Aurelian, a supposedly renowned elven diviner.
