When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can force it to save or suffer one of several control effects chosen by your tradition, representing precise pressure-point strikes and battlefield technique.

Appearance
A broad-shouldered gray-green orc with a scar carved across his left cheek, close-cropped black hair, and knotted forearms hardened by soldiering and hard travel. He dresses in practical dark wraps and travel-stained leathers, with a monk's loosened sash tied over old military habits. His eyes are sharp, restless, and always measuring exits, threats, and the value of a room.
Mannerisms
He speaks in clipped, economical sentences and wastes few words unless he is angry, in which case his voice gets very quiet. Before a fight he rolls his shoulders, cracks his neck twice, and taps two fingers against his wrist like he is checking a battlefield clock. He rarely sits with his back to a door.
Personality
Skuzlat is blunt, impatient, and hard to impress. He respects competence, keeps his promises when they are profitable or personally meaningful, and has a soldier's habit of noticing who panics under pressure. He is not cruel by nature, but his anger comes fast, and once it arrives he prefers action over argument.
Ideals
Freedom. No commander, magistrate, or patron gets to own his life again. He will take paid work, break unjust laws, and walk his own road, but he draws a hard line at cruelty for its own sake.
Bonds
He keeps the rusted insignia of his old unit wrapped in cloth, and he tells himself he will one day learn who truly ordered the betrayal. He still sends part of every profitable job to a widow who once fed him when he had nothing, and he refuses to let slavers or battlefield cowards pass unpunished.
Flaws
He takes insults personally and can be baited into reckless violence with a few well-chosen words. He trusts coin faster than people, assumes every oath has a hidden price, and when a job smells like betrayal he sometimes strikes first and asks questions never. Pride still sits under his temper, and he hates being reminded that he was once expendable.
Quirks
Background
Skuzlat once wore a uniform, marched to a drum, and believed discipline could turn him into something worthy of respect. He was wrong, or at least the officers above him were. He served well enough until a bad command, a blood-soaked retreat, and a convenient scapegoat left his name stained and his career broken. When the army cast him out, he found that coin mattered more than honor to the people who had used him, so he stopped pretending otherwise. He drifted into mercenary work, then into the city shadows where desperate clients paid better than legitimate captains ever had. There, he learned the value of silence, patience, and hands that could strike before a blade was fully drawn. A hard-eyed monk from the back alleys or a hidden shrine saw the violence burning in him and taught him to turn rage into motion, breath, and precision. Skuzlat is still quick to anger, but now his fury is channeled into clean violence, brutal discipline, and a suspiciously practical code, survive first, profit second, and never let anyone decide your worth for you.
