Appearance
A lean tabaxi with soot-colored fur striped in faint silver, amber eyes, and a half-teased grin that never fully reveals his intentions. He wears dark leather armor under a hooded cloak, keeps his claws neatly filed, and moves with a catlike stillness that becomes sudden blur when danger appears. A thin scar splits one ear, and a ring of tiny stolen trinkets hangs from a cord at his belt.
Mannerisms
He listens with one ear angled toward the nearest exit, flicks the tip of his tail when amused, and taps his claws together when thinking. When he lies, his whiskers twitch just once, a tiny tell he does not realize he has.
Personality
Polite but unreadable, Tybalt speaks softly, watches carefully, and rarely gives a direct answer when a better one can be borrowed from silence. He is curious, independent, and opportunistic, but not cruel, and he dislikes waste, needless violence, and anyone who mistakes calm for weakness.
Ideals
Freedom. No chain, law, debt, or fear should own a soul for long. People deserve the chance to choose their own path, even if that path is crooked.
Bonds
He still owes his escape to a one-eyed informant in the city underworld, and he will go out of his way to repay that debt. He also keeps one small silver token taken from his first successful heist, a reminder that he can still outthink the cages built for him.
Flaws
He treats every promise like a negotiable contract until proven otherwise, which makes him slow to trust and quick to test allies. He cannot resist a locked door, a hidden compartment, or a mystery that ought to remain buried, even when common sense says to walk away.
Quirks
Background
Tybalt was born under a hot southern moon in a trade city where every rooftop had a rumor and every alley had a price. As a kit, he learned that a quick set of paws and a quicker lie could keep him fed better than honest labor ever could. He began as a runner for fence houses and card dens, slipping messages through guarded streets and learning the shape of locks, patrol routes, and human greed. His tabaxi wanderlust made him curious about everything, but the underworld taught him a different lesson, that curiosity could be turned into leverage. When a deal went bad and a syndicate decided he knew too much, Tybalt vanished into the night with only a cloak, a knife, and a name left behind. Since then, he has survived by staying useful to the right people and invisible to the wrong ones. He steals when he must, investigates when he can, and keeps his true loyalty pointed at no banner, only at his own code of balance. Tybalt does not trust law or chaos, wealth or poverty, saint or cutthroat, he trusts patterns, opportunities, and the clean edge of a decision made at the right moment.
