Appearance
Durin is startlingly thin for a dwarf, his frame resembling a bundle of twigs more than a pillar of stone. He has pale, translucent skin and a long, snowy white beard that is impeccably braided with small silver bells. He wears tattered grey acolyte vestments over a set of worn furs, looking more like a beggar monk than a warrior. His eyes, however, burn with a fierce, unnatural intensity.
Mannerisms
Durin frequently coughs into a silk handkerchief and always bows low to anyone he deems more physically capable than himself.
Personality
Durin is soft-spoken and deeply humble, often apologizing for his physical presence. However, he is possessed by a 'Holy Fever' that he believes is a gift of divine strength. He is quick to offer spiritual advice but becomes terrifyingly intense when he perceives a moral slight, transitioning from a frail elder to a vessel of righteous fury in seconds.
Ideals
Spiritual conviction is the only true source of strength. Physical infirmity is merely a vessel for divine will.
Bonds
I carry the prayer book of my mentor, who believed I was destined for greatness even when I could barely lift a hammer.
Flaws
I frequently overestimate my physical capabilities when not in a rage, often resulting in embarrassing collapses or injuries.

Background
Durin spent fifty years within the Great Cathedral of the Ironpeaks, serving as a lowly scribe and keeper of records. Born with a wasting sickness that never truly left him, he was unfit for the heavy labors of his kin. He watched from the library as his brothers became champions of the forge and field, finding his only solace in the ancient texts of the gods. He never managed to master the serene focus required for traditional clerical magic, his spirit always too turbulent for quiet meditation. His life changed during a subterranean siege when a pack of shadows breached the library. Faced with certain death, Durin did not cower. A primal heat exploded in his chest, a surge of adrenaline and faith that allowed him to hoist a ceremonial axe and strike down the intruders with impossible force. He realized that while his body was broken, his spirit could temporarily override his flesh through pure, unadulterated zeal. Now he travels the world as a pilgrim warrior, seeking to test his divine fever against the evils of the land. He carries his massive greataxe not out of pride, but as a test of endurance. Every step is a prayer, and every battle is a sermon. He knows his life will likely be short, for the Fever burns through his meager stamina quickly, but he intends to be a blinding light for the All-Father before he finally flickers out.
