Appearance
A lean human man in his mid-thirties with careful merchant's posture, tired eyes, and a neatly kept but slightly rumpled nobleman's wardrobe. He wears a faded travel cloak over fine clothes that have been mended too many times, and a carved ocarina hangs at his belt on a silver cord. His expression is usually gentle and distant, as if listening to a melody only he can hear, but his smile returns quickly when he plays.
Mannerisms
He speaks softly until he feels safe, then becomes unexpectedly warm and eloquent. When thinking, he taps a slow rhythm on the ocarina holes with his thumb. Before playing, he always looks down for a heartbeat, as though asking permission from someone gone.
Personality
Quietly courteous, observant, and unexpectedly tender, Salomone treats people like they are worth the trouble of understanding. He is slow to trust his own happiness, but quick to lend a hand to anyone in pain. His humor is dry, his voice gentle, and his kindness often appears in practical acts rather than grand speeches.
Ideals
Compassion. Sorrow should make a person kinder, not crueler. He believes the living owe one another patience, dignity, and a reason to keep going.
Bonds
He keeps his wife's ocarina melody written on a folded scrap of vellum, and he plays it before every important performance. He feels responsible for protecting widows, grieving spouses, and anyone left alone by fate. He still sends a small share of his earnings to maintain his family name and his late wife's grave, wherever he can find it.
Flaws
He is dangerously self-contained when grieving and often insists he is fine when he is not. He sometimes uses wit and performance to avoid saying what hurts. At his lowest, he can become numb to danger, as if mourning has already made him invincible to loss.

Background
Salomone was born to comfort, raised between polished tables, account ledgers, and careful lessons in manners. He learned early that a noble name opens doors, but commerce keeps them open. As a young man he chose the road over the estate, becoming a merchant who could talk his way through border tolls, rival caravans, and difficult markets. He had a sharp eye for value, a warm laugh, and a talent for making strangers feel like friends. Somewhere along the way, he also found music, and an old ocarina became his quiet companion on long journeys. Then came the loss that hollowed him out. His wife died, and the bright arithmetic of trade suddenly felt useless. He kept moving at first, selling what he could, but grief followed him into every city and every room. Now he travels as a bard not because he is healed, but because music is the one language that still reaches the place in him where hope lives. He plays at inns, noble halls, and roadside camps alike, carrying his sorrow like a second shadow. He is gentle with the hurting, generous with the poor, and determined, in his own subdued way, to make sure others do not vanish into loneliness the way his beloved did.
