Appearance
Valkas-Tor is a mountain of muscle, standing nearly seven feet tall. He is clad in jagged, masterwork plate armor lacquered in striking black, bone-white, and deep crimson. His skin is like burnished bronze, covered in faint white scars that tell the story of a thousand battlefields. He possesses a piercing, cold imperial stare that makes even veteran soldiers look away. When his power manifests, shimmering spectral wings of obsidian and blood-red light erupt from his back.
Mannerisms
He stands with his hands clasped behind his back in a rigid parade rest. He speaks in a flat, monotone voice that brooks no argument and rarely blinks while observing others.
Personality
He is a creature of absolute discipline and frightening coldness. Valkas-Tor does not shout or bluster, he simply commands. He views most mortal life through a lens of tactical viability and evolutionary strength. He is polite but distant, treating everyone as either a potential subject, a future corpse, or a useful tool. He values order above all else, seeing chaos as the ultimate weakness of the 'un-ascended' civilizations.
Ideals
Might is the only law. The universe belongs to those with the strength to seize it and the will to hold it.
Bonds
My duty to the Hegemony is absolute. I am a fragment of my empire, and its eventual return is the only certainty I recognize.
Flaws
I am incapable of viewing others as equals. This profound arrogance often leads me to underestimate the unpredictability of 'lesser' beings.
Quirks
Background
Valkas-Tor did not originate from the planes known to most. He is a child of the Gilded Hegemony, a celestial empire that spans the vast voids between worlds. As a scion of an angelic conquering race, he was born into the Vanguard, the elite warriors tasked with subjugating less developed realms. He spent centuries pacifying distant star-kingdoms, his arrival always signaling the choice between total annexation or absolute annihilation. He arrived on this world after a catastrophic atmospheric entry, finding himself severed from his imperial battalion. To Valkas-Tor, this world is not a home but a mission. He views the current inhabitants as primitive but resourceful. He has spent his time here rising through the ranks of mercenary companies and local militias, studying the native warfare and political structures. He catalogs every weakness and every strength he encounters, preparing for the day the Hegemony inevitably locates him and arrives to integrate this world into the empire. Until then, he will sharpen this planet like a blade, for he believes that only through conflict can true perfection be reached.
