Appearance
Amy is a small, powerfully built gnome woman standing just over three feet tall, with vivid pink hair usually tied into a high, practical ponytail and bright emerald-green eyes. She wears layered saffron and white temple garments beneath flexible monk's wraps, reinforced with small plates of sun-bright metal. Her mother's light hammer hangs at her hip, its worn grip wrapped in faded red cloth. She smells faintly of sun-warmed linen, lamp oil, and hammered steel. When waiting, she stands perfectly still with her weight balanced on the balls of her feet, one hand resting near the hammer's grip.
Mannerisms
Amy speaks in a low, firm voice and rarely raises it. She taps the metal cap of her hammer twice before entering a dangerous place, counts exits whenever she enters a room, and gives rescued people simple instructions in the same calm tone she uses during prayer. When angry, she becomes unnaturally polite.
Personality
Amy is stern, protective, and intensely determined. She has little patience for cruelty disguised as tradition, but she is gentle with frightened children, prisoners, and anyone who has been denied a choice. She notices small acts of kindness and remembers them for years. Her humor is dry and unexpectedly mischievous, a remnant of her gnomish upbringing that surfaces whenever she is repairing a mechanism or outsmarting an enemy.
Ideals
Light must be chosen, not inherited. No innocent person belongs to a tyrant, a cult, or a forced marriage. Justice means opening the locked door, carrying the survivor out, and staying long enough to make sure they are safe.
Bonds
Monica's light hammer is both a weapon and a promise. Amy will dismantle her father's cult, rescue Thorn if any part of her remains, and protect anyone trapped in the same kind of captivity that claimed her mother.
Flaws
Amy's hatred of her father can overpower her judgment. She distrusts anyone who shows sympathy for cult leaders, and she sometimes treats frightened victims as potential collaborators until they prove otherwise. She also believes she must personally save everyone, making it difficult for her to retreat or accept help.
Quirks
Background
Amy Rose was born beneath the black banners of a cult devoted to a God of Darkness. Her father ruled the hidden congregation through fear, marriage contracts, and blood sacrifice. Her mother, Monica, quietly resisted him whenever she could, shielding Amy from the worst ceremonies and teaching her that kindness was not weakness. Amy was four when her older sister Thorn was initiated into the cult, an event that left Thorn distant and hollow-eyed. Her older brother Ashura spent years planning an escape for Amy, Monica, and himself. When Amy was eight, their plan was discovered. Ashura got Amy out, but Monica was sacrificed as punishment for helping them flee. Amy and Ashura spent a year moving from village to village before finding refuge in a temple dedicated to the God of the Sun. There, Amy learned letters, rites, healing, and the disciplined movements that became the foundation of her monastic training. She kept Monica's light hammer, the last object her mother had placed in her hands, and eventually learned to wield it with the same precision she brought to her unarmed strikes. At eighteen, Amy formally swore herself to the Sun God. Now a seasoned Warrior of the Open Hand, she hunts the cult that destroyed her family, seeks to free Thorn's soul, and works to rescue people kidnapped and forced into cult marriages. Her rage is fierce, but her purpose is brighter. She refuses to let the darkness define what she becomes.
