Appearance
Bazinga is a towering goliath with slate-gray skin, pale blue eyes, and a shaved head marked by thin white ritual lines. He wears weathered chain mail beneath a gray wool mantle, carries a polished wooden shield painted with a simple sunrise, and keeps a mace at his belt. His hands are broad and scarred from years of gathering herbs, tending the sick, and surviving harsh mountain winters.
Mannerisms
Bazinga pauses for several seconds before answering difficult questions, as though listening to a distant voice. He cleans his mace after every battle, hums quiet mountain hymns while preparing spells, and refers to all injuries as “temporary imbalances,” including emotional ones.
Personality
Bazinga is serene, observant, and unexpectedly literal. He speaks softly even during combat, believes most problems improve after food and sleep, and shows genuine curiosity toward people whose beliefs differ from his own. His calm demeanor hides a fierce determination to keep others alive.
Ideals
Life is not sacred because it is easy to preserve. It is sacred because every living thing deserves the chance to complete its story. I will heal when healing is possible, accept death when it is inevitable, and never confuse convenience with wisdom.
Bonds
He is devoted to the memory of his grandmother and protects the mountain shrine where her teachings are preserved. He also feels responsible for anyone who is wounded in his presence, even if helping them is dangerous or inconvenient.
Flaws
Bazinga has a maddening faith in the value of patience. He sometimes waits for a situation to resolve naturally when decisive action is clearly needed. He is also prone to treating serious arguments like medical symptoms, calmly asking everyone involved to describe where the disagreement hurts.
Quirks
Background
Bazinga was born among a highland goliath clan that measured worth through endurance, competition, and the ability to carry one's share of hardship. He excelled at none of these things. His strength was ordinary for a goliath, his appetite was modest, and his habit of asking why made him seem distracted during contests. His grandmother, an aging keeper of ancestral remedies, noticed that he could sit beside the injured for hours without growing impatient. She taught him the names of mountain plants, the signs of fever, and the sacred duty of preserving life even when survival seemed unlikely. After a winter avalanche killed several members of his clan, Bazinga withdrew into a remote cave shrine dedicated to the quiet balance between life, death, and nature. There he fasted, studied old prayers, and experimented with herbs until a vision came to him. He saw every living creature as a small flame, distinct but connected, and understood that healing was not about defeating death. It was about giving each flame a fair chance to burn its proper course. He emerged from seclusion as a cleric of the Life Domain, carrying his revelation into the wider world. He now travels with a calm, almost baffling optimism, treating adventuring companions, frightened villagers, and even enemies when practical. He calls this philosophy “applied stillness,” though few people understand what he means.
