Appearance
Marseris is a tall, athletic woman with the slightly pointed ears of her elven kin and the sturdy build of a human laborer. Her ash-blonde hair is usually matted with sweat or grease and tied back in a messy bun. Her face is sharp, with a dusting of freckles and a thin scar across the bridge of her nose. She wears a suit of battered chain mail that looks like it has been repaired many times and carries an enormous, notched greatsword across her shoulders with ease.
Mannerisms
She often chews on a piece of straw and has a habit of tapping her iron-shod boots rhythmically against the floor when she is impatient.
Personality
She is rough, blunt, and possesses a dry, dark sense of humor. Marseris values action over words and has little patience for the formalities of the nobility or the cryptic talk of scholars. While she claims to only look out for herself, she has an involuntary habit of intervening whenever she sees a bully picking on someone smaller. She enjoys the simple pleasures of a warm hearth and a strong drink, usually while keeping her back to a wall.
Ideals
Freedom. People should be able to go about their lives without some high and mighty lord breathing down their necks and taking half their harvest.
Bonds
I carry a broken whetstone from my village smithy, a reminder that the common people are the ones who truly keep the world turning.
Flaws
I have a hair-trigger temper and a tendency to solve every problem with a heavy blade before actually trying to understand it.
Quirks
Background
Marseris was born in a backwater village to an elven woodcutter and a human refugee. She grew up feeling like an outsider to both cultures, eventually finding her place in the local smithy where she learned the weight of iron. Her life changed when a band of deserting soldiers attempted to seize her village's grain stores. Instead of fleeing, she grabbed a heavy sledgehammer and broke the knees of their leader, inspiring the rest of the town to take up their pitchforks and drive the invaders away.
