Appearance
Nibsy is a disheveled High Elf with messy, silver-blonde hair that looks like it hasn't seen a comb in a decade. His once-elegant robes are stained with ink and soot, now reinforced with mismatched leather patches and extra pockets for stolen scrolls. He has a frantic, wide-eyed look and often has smudge marks on his nose from reading too closely to wet ink.
Mannerisms
Nibsy frequently taps his fingers against his chin as if trying to remember a complex spell formula. He often leans in very close when speaking, as if sharing a top-secret conspiracy.
Personality
Nibsy is a whirlwind of eccentric energy and social awkwardness. He speaks in rapid bursts, often jumping between high-minded magical theory and intense interest in whatever snack his companions might be holding. He is desperately lonely but doesn't quite remember how normal people interact, leading to a charming yet chaotic social presence.
Ideals
Innovation. The old ways of learning are too slow and boring. We must find new, exciting ways to unlock the world's secrets.
Bonds
I carry a charred fragment of my first spellbook. It reminds me of the beauty in a good, unintended explosion.
Flaws
I am physically incapable of leaving a locked door unopened or an unknown lever unpulled.
Quirks
Background
Nibsy was once the most promising scholar at the Great Arcanum, until his theory on 'Combustible History' resulted in the loss of three library wings. The council didn't appreciate his genius, labeling him a failed mage and banishing him to the Whispering Crags. During fifty years of solitude, Nibsy realized that magic is much easier to perform when you aren't trying to follow the rules, and sneaking into forbidden ruins is far more educational than reading about them in a classroom. After decades of talking to moss and a very stubborn badger, he decided it was time to find actual sentient friends. He gathered his charcoal, his notched daggers, and the few scrolls he managed to 'rescue' from the fire, venturing back into the world. He hopes that by being a useful rogue, people will forget he once accidentally set the Dean's beard on fire.
