Appearance
Rya is a tall, lean human woman with a narrow, disciplined frame and pale skin dusted with freckles across her nose and cheekbones. Her dark brown hair is cut into a sharp bob just below the jaw, and her piercing blue eyes are framed by thin wire-rimmed glasses. She wears a crisp white doctor's coat over dark gray scrubs, immaculate and starched, with practical black leather shoes. She carries herself like a surgeon in a crisis, precise, controlled, and difficult to rattle.
Mannerisms
She speaks in clipped, exact sentences and often pauses to adjust her glasses before delivering an unwelcome truth. When thinking, she peers over the top of her lenses rather than through them, as if she is judging the world from behind a diagnosis.
Personality
Meticulous, analytical, and unflinchingly professional. Rya respects competence above charm, and truth above comfort. She is dryly funny in the worst moments, unusually patient with physical suffering, and noticeably less patient with incompetence, sentimentality, or dramatic explanations. She appears cold at first, but she is deeply committed to keeping people alive, even when she refuses to say so in gentle words.

The clergy called her gifted. Her instructors called her relentless. Rya called it necessary. When the city grew larger, louder, and less interested in old vows, she followed the wounded into the Foundry District, where machinery, crime, and poverty left bodies in constant need of repair. There she built a reputation as a doctor who never lied to patients and never wasted time on comfort she could not afford to give. Beneath her severe professionalism, however, the chaos of the district has begun to wear at her carefully ordered faith. She still believes in healing, but now she wonders whether salvation is meant to be clean, or merely effective.
