Appearance
Malice is a tall, wiry drow woman with obsidian skin, white hair cut sharply at the jaw, and vivid violet eyes that seem almost red in torchlight. Her left arm is deliberately bare from shoulder to wrist, marked with ritual scars and thin silver lines resembling spider legs. She wears chain mail beneath layered crimson, violet, and saffron robes, with one sleeve pinned back to keep her exposed arm free. Two slightly curved scimitars hang at her hips, their dark blades treated with venom. Her expression is controlled and devotional, but her smile is usually a warning.
Mannerisms
Malice rarely stands still when speaking. Her fingers trace invisible spiderweb patterns against her exposed arm, and she tilts her head as if listening to a distant voice whenever someone mentions fate, mothers, or betrayal. Before drawing a blade, she whispers the name of the target to Lolth.
Personality
Malice is soft-spoken, observant, and intensely reverent. She treats violence as a sacred language and studies an opponent's fears before deciding how to kill them. She is unexpectedly patient with servants, children, and frightened animals, not from kindness but because she believes Lolth values creatures that understand their place. She prefers to be underestimated and becomes visibly pleased when an enemy calls her dishonorable.
Ideals
Devotion. I am not meant to be free. I am meant to be useful, and the most perfect form of worship is to become the weapon in my goddess's hand.
Bonds
Lolth is my mother, my sovereign, and the only being whose judgment matters. I will return to Menzoberranzan one day and place the severed insignia of House Travra at the feet of the Spider Queen.
Flaws
I interpret every setback as a test from Lolth, even when it is clearly the result of my own arrogance. I cannot resist humiliating an enemy who has shown mercy, because mercy feels like an insult to the goddess who remade me.

Background
Malice was born Aurekta Travra in the lightless dominion of Menzoberranzan, the youngest daughter of a minor branch of House Travra. From infancy, her future had been decided. She would learn the liturgies of Lolth, master the rituals of obedience, and eventually become another priestess in a house whose survival depended on pleasing the Spider Queen. Aurekta proved competent but strangely vacant during her religious instruction. She did not crave authority, affection, or even survival. What she wanted was to be used perfectly, without the burden of choosing what she was meant to become. During a punishment ritual in the caverns beneath the city, a swarm of pale spiders descended upon her. Instead of biting, they crawled across her body and arranged themselves in the shape of a black spiral over her heart. The priestesses called it a blessing, but Aurekta understood it as a summons. She abandoned her birth name, severed her allegiance to House Travra, and became Malice, a living blade placed in Lolth's hand. She studied stolen accounts of surface samurai, then twisted their discipline into the Way of the Black Widow, a martial code built around ambushes, concealed weapons, poisoned steel, and the belief that fair combat is merely vanity. Now she travels beyond Menzoberranzan as Lolth's hidden messenger, seeking enemies to destroy and omens that will prove her divine mother has not forgotten her.
“Aurekta proved competent but strangely vacant during her religious instruction.”
