Appearance
Milo is a slender halfling with messy, chestnut-colored hair and alert green eyes. He wears fitted, darkened leather armor that has been scuffed from many nights spent climbing stone walls. His hands are calloused but steady, and he often wears a hooded cloak to blend into the shadows of the city docks.
Mannerisms
He has a habit of flipping a copper coin over his knuckles when he is thinking, catching it perfectly every time without looking.
Personality
I am incredibly calm under pressure, rarely raising my voice or showing fear. I find that silence is often the best way to get people to fill the void with their secrets. I speak in a measured, quiet tone that makes people lean in to hear me.
Ideals
Freedom. No person should ever be held in a cage. I value my ability to go where I please and do what I want above all gold.
Bonds
I carry a polished brass button from the very first desk I ever robbed. It reminds me of where I started and the pride of a clean getaway.
Flaws
I have an insatiable curiosity for what lies behind a locked door. I find it nearly impossible to walk away from a sealed chest without knowing its contents.
Quirks
Background
Milo was born into the soot covered tenements of a massive port city, where his small stature was initially a liability. He quickly learned that while he couldn't compete with the dockworkers in strength, he could vanish into spaces they never even noticed. He spent his youth working as a runner for a local burglary ring, the Silken Noose, until he eventually graduated to full partner status. He specialized in internal security bypass, using his size to traverse ventilation shafts and tiny crawlspaces to open doors from the inside. His career took a sharp turn when a high stakes heist at a nobleman's estate went sideways. His partner panicked when a mechanical trap triggered, leaving Milo trapped behind a falling iron portcullis while the partner fled with the jewels. Milo spent several months in a miserable dungeon before a former contact managed to pull some strings and facilitate a bribe for his release. He has emerged from that cell with a deeper cynicism and a firm rule to never trust anyone who claims to have his back without proof. Now, Milo lives as a freelance operative. He takes jobs that require finesse and discretion, always keeping a bag packed and an eye on the nearest exit. He harbors a quiet resentment for the partner who abandoned him, though he keeps that anger tucked away until he can find a way to settle the score without getting caught himself.
