Appearance
Amora is a petite gnome with sun-browned skin and wide, vibrant green eyes. Her copper-colored hair is perpetually messy, often tangled with small twigs, dried moss, and the occasional flower from the forest floor. She wears high-quality, colorful silks that look slightly worn from travel, layered over a practical leather harness for her gear.
Mannerisms
She frequently adjusts her sleeves and looks over her shoulder when discussing her past. She has a habit of twirling a strand of hair when thinking deeply about a spell.
Personality
Amora is quick-witted and speaks with a melodic, rapid-fire cadence. She has a natural charm that she once used for profit, but she now tries to apply it toward helping others. She is often seen talking to herself or to any nearby squirrels, though she remains cautious of anyone who seems too interested in her personal history.
Ideals
Redemption. I have done wrong in the past, and I must use my magic to make the world a better place to balance the scales.
Bonds
My uncle Eldon gave me his spellbook on his deathbed. It is the only thing I have left of my family and I will protect it at all costs.
Flaws
I find it hard to resist the urge to tell a white lie or run a quick scam when I am backed into a corner or short on coin.
Quirks
Background
Born in a hidden grove, Amora found gnomish tradition too stifling. She spent her youth traveling between human settlements, using her natural talent for illusions to run harmless but profitable scams. She posed as various noble emissaries or miracle healers, prioritizing her own comfort over honesty. However, life grew difficult as she realized the loneliness of her path. The turning point came when her favorite uncle, Eldon, fell ill. Amora tried to trick her way into expensive apothecaries to save him, but she failed. Eldon knew of her deceptive ways and, with his final breath, asked her to use her sharp mind for more than just self-interest. He left her his old, incomplete spellbook, sparking a desire within her to master the arcane arts properly. Now, she travels the world as a student of magic, attempting to redeem her past as a charlatan by using her tricks for the greater good. She still carries the guilt of her selfish years, driving her to find real solutions where illusions once sufficed.
