- Goodberry
When When creating or consuming one of the magically created berries.
Nikagami creates ten berries. A creature can use an action to eat one and regain 1 hit point. The berries provide enough nourishment for one day and remain potent for 24 hours.
- Primeval AwarenessLevel 3
Nikagami can use an action and expend one ranger spell slot to focus his awareness on the region around him. For 1 minute per level of the spell slot expended, he can sense whether certain creature types are present within 1 mile, or within up to 6 miles in favored terrain. This ability does not reveal their location or number.
Always on
- Breath Weapon
When As an action, when creatures are positioned within a 15-foot cone.
Nikagami exhales a 15-foot cone of destructive energy. Each creature in the area must make a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. After using this trait, he cannot use it again until he finishes a short or long rest.
- Hunter's Mark
When When choosing a creature as the target of the spell.
Nikagami adds 1d6 extra damage to a weapon attack against a chosen creature and gains advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track it and Intelligence checks to recall information about it. The spell requires concentration for up to 1 hour.
- Cure Wounds
When As an action, when touching a creature that needs healing.
Nikagami restores 1d8 plus 3 hit points to a creature he touches.
- Favored EnemyLevel 1
Nikagami has chosen humanoids, specifically corrupt city officials and criminal enforcers, as a favored enemy. He has advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track them and Intelligence checks to recall information about them. He also learns one language of his choice, Thieves' Cant, from his criminal life.
- Natural ExplorerLevel 1
Nikagami is particularly familiar with urban environments and underground passages. When traveling for an hour or more in favored terrain, his group gains the benefits of difficult terrain not slowing travel, no loss of navigational accuracy except by magic, normal stealth while traveling at a normal pace, doubled awareness for danger while alone, and the ability to forage twice as much food. In addition, he gains benefits when tracking creatures and can determine their exact number, sizes, and how long ago they passed.

Appearance
Nikagami is a lean, dark-scaled dragonborn with charcoal-black scales broken by narrow bands of dull copper along his horns, jaw, and shoulders. His left horn is chipped near the tip, and a thin scar crosses his right eye without impairing his vision. He wears weathered scale mail beneath a hooded cloak, with a longbow strung across his back and twin shortswords at his hips. His movements are quiet and deliberate, like a predator that learned patience in crowded city streets.
Mannerisms
Nikagami constantly checks reflections in windows, polished buckles, and puddles. When lying, he becomes unusually polite and uses a person's full name. Before entering a room, he quietly counts exits, windows, and armed strangers.
Personality
Nikagami is watchful, dryly humorous, and intensely practical. He rarely speaks first, but he remembers everything said around him. He dislikes needless cruelty, not because he is gentle, but because cruelty is noisy, inefficient, and usually committed by people too careless to hide their tracks. He prefers to solve problems from the shadows, using patience, leverage, and a well-placed arrow.
Ideals
Freedom. Laws are tools used by the powerful to control the vulnerable. A person should be judged by what he chooses to do when no one can force him.
Bonds
Nikagami once betrayed an Ash Knife operation to save a young street orphan who had been forced into the gang. The child disappeared into the city, and Nikagami still searches for signs of him. He also carries a stolen signet ring belonging to the gang's former leader, a reminder that the underworld never truly forgets a debt.
Flaws
Nikagami assumes every kindness has a hidden price. He is willing to abandon allies, plans, and even his own reputation if he believes survival demands it, and he often mistakes genuine trust for manipulation.
Quirks
Background
Nikagami was raised in the crowded alleys beneath a merchant district where dragonborn were tolerated when useful and watched whenever they became inconvenient. His strength was never impressive, so he survived by noticing what others overlooked. He learned which guards accepted bribes, which doors were poorly barred, and which crimes were blamed on outsiders. By adolescence, he was working as a courier, lookout, and occasional burglar for a loose criminal network known as the Ash Knives. His most valuable skill was not breaking locks, but knowing when not to be seen.
