Appearance
Ashen-skinned and unmistakably Shadar-kai in bearing, she has sharp orange eyes, a tumble of red hair, and a fragile crown of flowers woven through black thorns. Her Slavic witch-like clothes are layered in dark wool, embroidered linen, and weathered charms, with a crow perched comfortably on her shoulder like it owns the right of way.
Mannerisms
She rarely stands still, fingers always braiding herbs, thorns, or the crow's feathers. When she speaks a warning, she taps the nearest wooden surface three times as if warding off the answer.
Personality
Soft-spoken, watchful, and unsettlingly polite, Vesna seems to be listening to voices no one else can hear. She is patient with the grieving, suspicious of the cheerful, and deeply curious about anything that breaks the rules of nature or the dead.
Ideals
Respect the old bargains, the dead, the wild, and the promises that keep the world from unraveling. Power should be used like a blade over a candle, carefully, with a purpose.
Bonds
She guards a bundle of dried flowers, thorns, and black feathers tied together with red thread, because each piece was taken from a place where she survived something impossible.
Flaws
She treats bad omens as invitations and cannot resist investigating anything that feels haunted, cursed, or fated. When frightened, she becomes unnervingly calm and speaks in riddles instead of admitting fear.
Quirks
Background
She was born in the Shadowfell where the Shadar-kai teach endurance as if it were a prayer, but the old women who sheltered her saw something stranger in her than a child of dusk. They whispered of a bloodline touched by curses, bargains, and hedge-magic, and when her first proper omen arrived, a ring of flowers frost-bloomed around her wrists in the dead of winter. The raven she keeps on her shoulder came to her the same night, not as a gift, but as a witness. It has followed her ever since, croaking warnings before graves open, bargains sour, or strangers lie too beautifully to trust. She withdrew from her people after a vision in a cracked black mirror showed her a mouth in the dark, smiling with her own teeth. In isolation she learned to make charms from bone, ash, rowan, and bitter herbs, and in that lonely craft an Archfey took notice. The pact was not signed with ink but with a promise, that she would gather lost names, broken promises, and the kind of secrets that bloom only near fear. Now she wanders in witch-clothes stitched against the cold, carrying a warlock's power like a candle in a crypt, half blessing and half threat, while her crow watches for the moment she finally decides whether she is cursed, chosen, or simply becoming.
