The beast obeys her commands as best it can, adds her proficiency bonus to its AC, attack rolls, and damage rolls, and gains proficiency in all saving throws. In combat, the beast acts on Venus's initiative and can move and use its reaction normally, but it takes only the Dodge action unless Venus uses a bonus action to command it to Dash, Disengage, Dodge, or Help, or to attack. The companion is a wolf named Candlewick.

Appearance
Venus is a graceful tiefling woman with deep burgundy skin, swept-back black hair carefully braided with small brass charms, and polished ivory horns that curve gently backward. Her amber eyes are bright and unusually attentive. She keeps her scale mail meticulously clean, wears a green ranger's cloak, and carries a longbow strung with pale cord. Within a minute of meeting her, most people notice her warm, musical voice and the way she hums softly while thinking. When rattled, her breath becomes quick and visibly smoky, and her cheerful speech turns into precise, clipped observations.
Mannerisms
Venus smiles at people before deciding whether she trusts them. She tilts her head when listening, often touches one of the brass charms in her braid when a memory surfaces, and hums little three-note melodies while cleaning her bow. When frightened, she draws one sharp breath through her nose, then begins listing practical observations in a calm, methodical voice.
Personality
Venus is joyful, curious, and determined to treat every day as proof that a person can choose who they become. She asks sincere questions, celebrates small victories, and tries to find something hopeful even in grim circumstances. Her optimism is not naivety so much as defiance. She knows there is darkness in her past, and she refuses to let it dictate the shape of her future.
Ideals
Truth. A fact does not become less important because it is frightening, shameful, or inconvenient. The truth should be brought into the light, then used to protect the innocent.
Bonds
She will uncover the truth about her ten siblings, even if the truth proves that her family deserved the suspicion surrounding them. She also feels responsible for every living creature placed in her care, including the unusual beast that follows her.
Flaws
She is too eager to believe that every mystery has a kind explanation, and she sometimes gives dangerous people one chance too many. She also fears that recovering her memories will reveal that she was not merely related to wrongdoing, but personally responsible for it.
Quirks
Background
Venus woke beneath a stand of rain-darkened trees with a longbow in her hands, a half-burned family crest in her pocket, and no memory of how she had arrived there. The first clear thought she had was a name, Venus. The second was a flash of ten children gathered around a candlelit table, with herself as the youngest daughter. Her family had been clever, secretive, and involved in something shady enough that remembering it made her stomach twist. She does not know whether they were criminals, occultists, spies, or merely people who made one unforgivable bargain. Every few weeks, another fragment surfaces, usually in a dream or while studying some forgotten symbol.
