A pale-skinned tiefling man with faint crimson horns, sharp features, and a scarred soldier's build. He wears practical travel leathers beneath battered chain mail, and carries an oversized greatsword almost as tall as he is. His eyes are cold and watchful, but when he speaks to common folk his posture softens and his gaze becomes protective.

Darian is stern, disciplined, and quietly compassionate toward the poor and overlooked. He speaks little unless something matters, but when it does he is blunt, direct, and hard to dissuade. He respects labor, loyalty, and sacrifice, and has little patience for idle luxury or arrogant authority.

Darian was born from a love that could not survive court politics. His mother, Lesolis, carried him away from the shadow of Shintetsu and sought safety in the countryside, where she became the second wife of a baron. Safety proved to be an illusion. His stepfather's cruelty and the sneering of noble children taught Darian early that bloodlines mattered more to the rich than kindness ever did. The only warmth in that house came from his mother and a loyal butler who helped him endure each day in silence. When a failed assassination attempt arranged by the first wife tore that fragile refuge apart, Darian lost both people who had protected him and was forced into the world alone. The mercenary company called the Black Crows took him in, and under Miller's harsh but patient tutelage he became a terrifying swordsman with a zweihander in his hands. Maine, the group's priest, recognized a holy spark in him and taught him to channel sacred power as a weapon against injustice. That hope burned out when an ogre ambush massacred the Black Crows during a noble's escort job, and Darian escaped only because his companions sacrificed themselves for him.
