Appearance
Nora Kivi is a human woman of medium height with a sturdy, athletic build, flushed fair skin, and clear gray-blue eyes. Her blonde hair is usually braided quickly or left disheveled from travel. She favors practical trousers, worn boots, and a loose cream shirt beneath polished chain mail. A silver holy symbol rests at her throat, and a noble signet ring hangs on a cord around her wrist. Her shield bears the crest of her family, deliberately scratched and repaired after years in the field.
Mannerisms
Nora speaks quickly when excited and presses two fingers against her holy symbol whenever she is trying not to lose her temper. In formal company she unconsciously straightens her posture and slips into courtly diction, then catches herself and deliberately relaxes. She tends to finish conversations by checking whether everyone present has eaten, slept, or been injured.
Personality
Nora is direct, warm, and difficult to intimidate. She treats servants, soldiers, merchants, and nobles with the same attentive courtesy, although she has little patience for anyone who confuses politeness with obedience. She is practical in a crisis, quick to laugh after danger has passed, and habitually takes responsibility before anyone asks her to.
Ideals
Responsibility. Privilege is a debt, not a reward. Those born with power are obligated to spend it on behalf of those who have none.
Bonds
The villages that survived the famine are Nora's true family. She sends part of every reward home and will risk almost anything to protect the people who trusted her when she turned against her own household.
Flaws
Nora cannot resist intervening when authority is being used to hurt the vulnerable, even when patience, secrecy, or retreat would be wiser. She is also deeply ashamed of how much she still enjoys the privileges of rank, and sometimes overcompensates by making reckless displays of humility.
Quirks
Background
Nora Kivi was born to a minor human noble family whose land bordered a cold, marshy stretch of the northern frontier. Her childhood was shaped by formal dinners, tedious lessons in genealogy, and long afternoons watching household healers tend the tenants who could not afford a physician. Nora learned early that her family name opened doors, but it could not close wounds, stop fevers, or put food in an empty stomach. She became increasingly uncomfortable with the distance between the manor and the village below it. During a winter famine, Nora defied her parents and opened the family storehouses to the surrounding villages. The resulting scandal ended her comfortable life, but it brought her to the attention of a priest of a life-giving god who saw both her compassion and her stubborn courage. Nora entered the temple as a novice and discovered that prayer demanded more than graceful words. It demanded carrying the injured, standing between frightened people and violence, and accepting that mercy sometimes required a shield in one hand and a mace in the other. She now travels as a cleric of the Life Domain, using her noble birth to reach powerful people and her hard-earned faith to make them answer for the suffering beneath their walls.
