Appearance
Sirena is a tall, powerfully built human woman with light skin, broad shoulders, and the working musculature of a forester and archer. Her brown hair flows past her shoulders, usually tied back with a strip of green cloth when she is traveling. She wears well-maintained leather armor beneath a weathered forest cloak and carries a longbow across her back. Within moments of meeting someone, people notice that her attention constantly measures the room, the exits, the windows, and the nearest source of cover. Her voice is calm and low, but when danger appears her breathing becomes deliberately slow and audible, as though she is teaching herself and everyone nearby not to panic.
Mannerisms
Sirena pauses before entering any room and quietly identifies its exits. She rests two fingers against the fletching of an arrow when thinking, and when danger rises she deliberately slows her breathing until everyone nearby can hear the rhythm. She rarely raises her voice, which makes the moments when she does especially alarming.
Personality
Sirena is compassionate, practical, and quietly intense. She offers help before being asked, remembers the names of strangers, and treats survival as a communal responsibility rather than a personal triumph. She is patient with fear but impatient with cruelty. Her humor is dry and unexpectedly gentle, often appearing when everyone else is too exhausted to laugh.
Ideals
Mercy. A strong person is measured not by what they can destroy, but by how many lives they can carry through the storm.
Bonds
The forests and villages of Lorience are under her protection. She carries a small wooden token carved by her father and refuses to abandon anyone who has placed their safety in her hands.
Flaws
Sirena takes responsibility for problems that are not hers to solve, then grows resentful when others do not match her effort. She is suspicious of comfort, authority, and promises made too easily. When frightened, she becomes controlling and may push away capable allies rather than admit she needs help.
Quirks
Background
Sirena Cercero was raised where the settled roads of Lorience gave way to deep woodland. Her mother, Mara, was a ranger survivalist who could read a broken fern, a bird's sudden silence, or a patch of disturbed moss as clearly as written words. Her father, Oren, was a towering lumber worker whose hands could split stubborn timber, yet who treated every living thing with patient gentleness. From them, Sirena learned two lessons that still govern her life: strength exists to protect, and the forest always tells the truth to those willing to listen. As Lorience began to wither under war, famine, and corrupt rule, Sirena became a guide for refugees, hunters, messengers, and anyone desperate enough to leave the roads. She knows which streams remain clean, which old watchtowers can shelter a dozen people, and which paths are watched by men who have forgotten mercy. Her mother taught her the bow and the silent approach, while her father taught her how to carry the wounded and how to use great force without cruelty. Sirena now travels beyond the forest not because she has abandoned it, but because she believes the people of Lorience are part of what the forest is asking her to protect.
“Her father, Oren, was a towering lumber worker whose hands could split stubborn timber, yet who treated every living thing with patient gentleness.”
