Appearance
Vaka stands well over six and a half feet tall, a wall of corded muscle and deep forest-green skin marked by old violence. A jagged scar cuts across her collarbone, a puckered bullet wound mars her bicep, and her angular face is framed by thick ivory tusks and a shock of black hair shaved at the sides. She wears a battered leather jacket over a tight black tank top, heavy canvas pants, and thick-soled combat boots, with a holstered pistol and practical pouches riding low on her hips. Her amber eyes are sharp, alert, and always measuring the room for threats, exits, and opportunities.
Mannerisms
Vaka talks with her hands, punctuating threats and jokes alike with a two-finger point or a thumb hooked under her jacket collar. She cracks her neck before a fight, rolls one tusk against the inside of her lip when thinking, and laughs too loudly when something is truly funny. She rarely stands still for long, preferring to pace, lean, or square up like a prizefighter even in conversation.
Personality
Loud, brash, and impossible to ignore, Vaka enters every room like she expects trouble and hopes it has the good sense to behave. She is crude in speech but precise in judgment, a battlefield tactician who likes simple truths, clean plans, and people who keep their promises. She respects courage more than pedigree, competence more than charm, and loyalty more than holiness. Beneath the swagger is a woman who takes vows seriously, especially when they protect the weak.
Ideals
Glory is not vanity, it is proof. If a life is hard enough to break people, then surviving it with style and courage is its own sacred act. Vaka believes strength should protect, not merely dominate, and that the worthy earn legend through deeds, not bloodline.
Bonds
She protects the people the world discards, especially street kids, runaways, and soldiers who have been left behind. Vaka keeps a little charm from the first person who ever fed her without asking a price, and she would cross hell to repay that kindness. She also carries a private vow to prove that glory belongs to the worthy, not the well-born.
Flaws
Vaka's temper flares fast, especially when she smells cowardice dressed up as authority. She can be reckless in the name of proving a point, and she sometimes mistakes momentum for certainty. She hates being pitied, so she may reject help even when she needs it. Her pride is real, and if someone insults her honor or her tribe, she is capable of turning a simple disagreement into a full-scale brawl.
Quirks
Background
Vaka learned the world from the gutter up. Born among the forgotten edges of a hard city, she survived by stealing crusts, sleeping in boiler rooms, and reading danger from a doorway before the door even opened. As an orc, she was assumed to be a brute, so she became one when needed, but never only that. She learned how to watch, how to wait, how to strike first when the alley turned mean. The streets taught her discipline long before any temple did, and every bruise became a lesson in timing, leverage, and mercy withheld or granted at the exact right moment. Her path to paladinhood began not with holiness, but with spectacle. She saw too many bullies, corrupt enforcers, and cheap tyrants hiding behind power they did not earn. Vaka made a habit of breaking them, sometimes for coin, sometimes for principle, sometimes because she simply could not stomach the sight of another weak thing ground beneath a stronger boot. The Oath of Glory gave shape to that instinct. Strength, she learned, was not just about surviving the fight. It was about becoming the sort of legend that gave other people permission to stand back up. Now she fights like a war poem written in brass knuckles and prayer, loud in the charge, ruthless in the crush, and surprisingly reverent when the dust settles.
“As an orc, she was assumed to be a brute, so she became one when needed, but never only that.”
