Appearance
A stout mountain dwarf with a salt-and-pepper beard braided into three neat cords, each fastened with a small bronze charm from a different shrine. His cleric vestments are practical rather than ornate, worn beneath polished scale mail and a well-used shield bearing a carved holy emblem. His hands are broad and scarred from labor, prayer, and carrying the wounded. His eyes are a steady gray, the color of wet stone, and his face carries the calm weariness of someone who has seen enough suffering to take compassion seriously.
Mannerisms
He speaks in a low, steady register and touches two fingers to his holy symbol before making any promise. When thinking, he rubs the braid at the end of his beard as if counting rosary beads. In conversation he tends to answer with short, practical phrases, then quietly follows them with an act of kindness.
Personality
Patient, practical, and unexpectedly gentle, Brottin treats every person like a structure that can be reinforced before it collapses. He is slow to praise, quicker to patch a wound, and utterly sincere when he says that survival is holy work. Under pressure he becomes quietly intense, the sort of cleric who will lift a fallen beam, carry three injured people at once, and still remember to ask their names.
Ideals
Mercy. The divine is measured not by sermons, but by how many people are left standing after the storm. Faith should protect the weak, comfort the wounded, and give the desperate a reason to endure one more day.
Bonds
He still carries the bronze prayer wheel given to him by the elder who first taught him to heal the sick, and he will not rest until he repays that debt by building a safe refuge in her name. He keeps a list of every traveler, miner, and pilgrim he has personally blessed, and he remembers their faces better than he remembers maps.
Flaws
Brottin believes every wound has a purpose if it can teach mercy, and that conviction can make him dangerously slow to judge cruelty. He also carries the habit of taking responsibility for everyone in the room, even when the situation is beyond his power to control. When anger does break through his calm, it arrives like a quarry blast, sudden, loud, and alarming to all nearby.

Background
Brottin Stonepsalm was born in a deep hold where every tunnel echoed with hymn, hammer, and the patient drip of underground springs. As a young dwarf, he was assigned to the temple not because he was frail, but because he listened. While other novices competed to recite the longest litany, Brottin learned the harder sacred skill, noticing who needed water, who hid grief behind pride, and which old miners came to confession only after the market closed. The priests of the shrine saw in him a steady heart, and in time he became an acolyte who could mend both torn flesh and fraying spirits.
