- Eldritch Blast
When When Dot makes a ranged spell attack against a creature within 120 feet
A beam of crackling violet force streaks toward a creature within 120 feet. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 plus 2 force damage, and the beam can push the target 10 feet away if Dot chooses.
- Hex
When As a bonus action before attacking a creature within 90 feet
Dot curses a creature she can see within 90 feet. The target takes an extra 1d6 necrotic damage whenever Dot hits it with an attack, and the curse can be moved to another creature when the target dies.
- Dissonant Whispers
When When Dot targets one creature within 60 feet
A whisper from Arctero fills one creature within 60 feet with impossible stage directions. The target makes a Wisdom saving throw, taking 3d6 psychic damage and using its reaction to move away on a failure, or half damage without the forced movement on a success.

Dot briefly vanishes in a burst of silver confetti and teleports up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space she can see.
- Invisibility
When When Dot touches a willing creature or herself
Dot or a creature she touches becomes invisible until the spell ends or the creature attacks or casts a spell.

Appearance
Dot is a small forest gnome with warm brown skin, wide hazel eyes, and thick dark hair gathered into two uneven braids decorated with mismatched brass beads. She wears a scuffed leather coat over bright stage clothes, with repaired cuffs, hidden pockets, and a registration badge from Strixhaven pinned crookedly near her collar. Her arcane focus is a cracked silver hand mirror, once used by Arctero during his performances. When anxious, a translucent, oversized torso and theatrical face appear behind her, usually gesturing dramatically or speaking over her shoulder.
Mannerisms
Dot speaks rapidly when nervous, then stops mid-sentence to listen to a voice nobody else can hear. She addresses her own reflection before making important decisions, adjusts her crooked Strixhaven badge whenever she lies, and gives tiny theatrical bows after successful spells. When Arctero manifests, she instinctively steps half a pace to the side so he can be seen.
Personality
Dot is earnest, observant, and intensely practical beneath a layer of theatrical habits she learned from Arctero. She notices exits, loose floorboards, suspicious pockets, and the emotional temperature of a room almost instantly. She wants desperately to be taken seriously, but she is incapable of resisting a dramatic flourish when a quiet solution would work better. Dot is kind to people who are overlooked, especially assistants, servants, familiars, and enchanted objects.
Ideals
Performance is transformation. A person should be allowed to become more than the role other people assigned them, even if the costume, the story, and the magic are all improvised.
Bonds
I will uncover the truth of Arctero's death and decide for myself whether his legacy deserves to continue. The Strixhaven acceptance letter is the first official recognition Dot has ever received without Arctero forging it, and she will protect it at any cost.
Flaws
Dot is terrified that without Arctero's voice she has no destiny at all, so she tolerates his humiliating interference longer than she should. She also lies reflexively when embarrassed, often creating elaborate explanations that are harder to maintain than the original truth.
Quirks
Background
Dot was raised among the mossy burrows and lantern-lit hollows of a forest gnome settlement, where clever hands and quick stories were valued almost as much as careful gardening. She had a talent for making small illusions seem much larger than they were, turning fireflies into constellations and acorns into jeweled eggs. That talent brought her to the traveling show of the Great Arctero, an extravagant magician whose miracles depended heavily on hidden wires, prepared mirrors, enchanted props, and Dot quietly fixing everything he broke. She became his assistant, stagehand, bookkeeper, occasional decoy, and frequent scapegoat. Arctero called her his indispensable understudy. Dot privately called herself his unpaid stooge. Arctero died during a performance that was supposed to reveal his greatest illusion, a feat involving a mirror, a thunderclap, and an audience member chosen at random. The trick succeeded in ways nobody understood. Arctero vanished, the theater burned blue for three nights, and Dot woke with his voice inside her thoughts. He now appears as a towering illusory torso, offering grand commands, unsolicited criticism, and suspiciously specific advice. Dot does not know whether he is a ghost, a magical echo, or something wearing her former employer's personality like a costume. She has enrolled at Strixhaven to learn enough magic to fulfill what Arctero calls her destiny, though he refuses to explain it plainly. His public manifestations make this difficult. During registration, her anxiety summoned him above the crowd, where he introduced her as the future savior of the Seventh Curtain before disappearing in a shower of imaginary confetti.
