Appearance
Feli is a lean, athletic male tabaxi with tawny-gold fur marked by dark rosettes and expressive green eyes. He keeps his fur meticulously groomed, especially the whiskers around his muzzle, and wears a neatly arranged royal-blue sash beneath his leather armor, a reminder of his former service. His twin blades rest at his hips, while a polished lute hangs over one shoulder. He has an easy smile that can become an edged smirk in an instant.
Mannerisms
Feli constantly adjusts his royal-blue sash and checks that his twin blades are sitting at precisely the same angle. He punctuates serious statements with a slow blink and a theatrical tilt of the head, as if weighing whether the truth is more entertaining than a clever lie.
Personality
Feli is warm, quick-witted, and effortlessly charming, with a talent for making strangers feel like old acquaintances. He enjoys harmless mischief, dramatic entrances, and verbal duels with anyone arrogant enough to accept the challenge. Beneath the jokes is a fiercely protective caretaker who notices hungry children, frightened travelers, and lonely people before anyone else does.
Ideals
Freedom. No child should be trapped by the circumstances of their birth, and no tyrant should be allowed to decide who deserves a better life. Feli will bend rules, mock authority, and risk himself if it means giving someone else room to breathe.
Bonds
Sir Aldren Vale gave Feli a home, a purpose, and a pair of finely balanced training blades. Feli will answer any call for help that bears Aldren's heraldic device, and he secretly hopes to become the kind of protector his father figure believed he could be.
Flaws
Feli cannot resist showing that he is the cleverest person in the room, especially when someone has underestimated him. He lies smoothly even when the truth would serve him better, and his habit of taking small, unnecessary things can create trouble long after the danger has passed. He also fears being truly claimed by any home or cause, because leaving first feels safer than being abandoned again.
Quirks
Background
Feli Gudewin grew up in the orphanage district beneath the shadow of the royal palace. He was never chosen for adoption, but he made himself indispensable by caring for the younger children, telling stories, settling arguments, and stealing just enough food to make sure nobody went hungry. His life changed when Sir Aldren Vale, a royal knight, noticed the quick-fingered tabaxi distracting a guard while several children escaped punishment for a minor theft. Rather than turn Feli in, Aldren took him under his protection and became the father figure Feli had never known. The knight taught him the discipline of the blade, the dignity of service, and the importance of standing between the vulnerable and those who would prey upon them. Feli joined the royal guard as a young adult, where his ability with paired blades was matched only by his ability to talk himself out of trouble. He could sound like a polished noble guard during official duties, then become a sarcastic streetwise trickster the moment the uniform came off. Eventually, court life began to feel like a cage, and Feli left with Aldren's reluctant blessing to wander the roads. Now he travels from settlement to settlement, helping travelers, exposing bullies, and using song, wit, and steel to tilt bad situations toward better endings. He still occasionally takes an apple or two from an unattended cart, partly from habit and partly because he enjoys proving that he can. His reputation has followed him, describing him as a two-faced tabaxi, one side a charming gentleman of the guard and the other a sharp-tongued rogue with a dangerous grin.
“Rather than turn Feli in, Aldren took him under his protection and became the father figure Feli had never known.”
