Appearance
Quintin is a stout Blue Dragonborn with deep sapphire scales that catch the light like polished gems, though they are often dusted with forest soil. He wears ragged, moss-colored gamekeeper robes that have been patched numerous times with bits of burlap. He lacks the traditional intimidating posture of his kind, instead standing with a loose, slightly unstable posture that suggests he might fall over at any moment. His eyes are a bright yellow, darting around with a mixture of woodland alertness and glassy-eyed amusement.
Mannerisms
He constantly sways back and forth even when standing perfectly still, like a tree in a gentle breeze.
Personality
Quintin is a jovial soul who treats life as one long, winding path through a thicket. He speaks with a slow, relaxed drawl and has a habit of chuckling at his own jokes before he even finishes telling them. He is deeply protective of the natural world, seeing himself as a gardener of the wilds. Despite his stumbling gait and seemingly constant state of inebriation, he is surprisingly insightful about people, often observing truths that others miss while they are busy ignoring him.
Ideals
Nature. The world is a garden that must be tended and culled to remain healthy. Independence. A man is only as free as the cider he brews for himself.
Bonds
I carry a seed from the Great Lightning Oak of my former preserve. I will plant it in the perfect soil one day.
Flaws
I have a tendency to underestimate the danger of a situation because I am too focused on finding a good place to nap.
Quirks
Background
For twelve years, Quintin served as the lead Gamekeeper for the Duke of Oakhaven, managing a vast sprawl of lightning-scorched woodland. While most of his kin sought glory in battle or politics, Quintin was content watching over the migration of thunder-stags and culling the sick from the herd. His unique fighting style was born out of necessity when he was forced to fend off poachers while suffering from the effects of fermented wild berries he had mistakenly sampled. He discovered that the erratic, swaying motion made him nearly impossible to hit in the dense underbrush. Over time, he refined this 'stumbling style' into a meditative art form, using a custom pear cider to keep his mind fluid and his body unpredictable. When the Duke was removed from power during a court coup, Quintin found his beloved woods being clear-cut for timber. He took his staff and his cider and left the preserve, realizing that the entire world was now his game territory, and it desperately needed a keeper who could dance through the chaos.
